A knife is a multi-functional tool used for a large variety of tasks, primarily used for fletching logs in the Fletching skill and cutting food in the Cooking skill. It sees secondary usage in the Crafting skill. Additionally, it can be used to cut through webs and setup Hunter traps.

They are sold in many general stores, at Trader Stan's Trading Post on Karamja, or the Ardougne Spice Stall. A knife can also be found by searching a sack between two webs in front of the lever to the Mage Arena bank, if the player does not have a knife in their inventory.

Trivia

Before RuneScape first launched in 2001, the knife was originally intended to be wieldable as a weapon. Although the option to wield it was removed before launch, its code with weapon stats still remained. For a brief time there was a bug where players could wield the knife, and also wield multiple knives at once, stacking their stats and giving them an insane strength bonus. This glitch has since been patched. (See knife bug)
