Seers' Village is a small settlement to the west of Camelot, known for its white-robed residents who are capable of precognition. The city sits next to Camelot, and is often one of the first places new players visit after gaining membership.

Transportation

Several transport options bring players into or close to Port Sarim, listed here with their arrival destination. From closest to farthest:

History

The village has long been a part of Kandarin, and its residents have created several notable inventions. Early in the Fifth Age, a powerful ore was discovered underneath Seers' Village.[1] A workshop was created under the village to allow others to come to the village and craft with it. However, the magi of the time soon realized just how powerful the objects created with the ore could be; as a result, they shut down the workshop and worked to destroy all traces of its mention.[2] Allegedly, a resident of Seers' Village also became the first to grow Krandorian hops, doing so while on a visit to the island of Crandor.[3]

In the year 132, King Arthur and his knights arrived in Gielinor, and were given the nearby castle by King Ulthas and Lord Sinclair, which they renamed to Camelot.[4][5] The Falador Party Room was removed from its original location in Seers' Village sometime after, as the seers and the knights of Camelot alike took issue with the noise and activities, and the building was turned into a courthouse.[6]

While the village may have originally been founded by seers alone, several non-seer men and women live there today. One of its inhabitants is a new[7] seer named Phantuwti; unlike other seers, it appears that he might not actually have any powers of foresight, as he cannot see the weather without his weather vane, and only says "we see," not "I see."

Locations

Buildings

Building Description
Elemental Workshop An unassuming anvil building with a giant workshop underneath it. The book containing the key to access the workshop (and consequently start the quest) is found in a bookshelf inside a house directly south of the workshop.
Forester's Arms Pub A pub featured in the barcrawl.
House A house which features a common man, instead of any seers. The house has a bookcase in it which can be searched to start the Elemental Workshop I quest.
Seers' building A two-story building connected only on the second floor, hosting seers such as Sin Seer and Phantuwti.
Seers' Village bank A bank popular for training Fletching, especially after chopping at the nearby trees.
Seers' Village courthouse A large courthouse featured in the King's Ransom quest.
Seers' Village church A large church to Saradomin, with a graveyard popularly visited for its yew trees. The church is at the end of the rooftop course. Within it is an altar to restore Prayer at, and a church organ.
The chapel and its graveyard.

Skill training areas

  • Seers' Village is a very popular Woodcutting destination. In total, the village and close surrounding area contain six yew trees, six maple trees, ten willow trees, and multiple oak trees.
  • Players with 60 Agility can use the rooftop course, by climbing up the wall on the south-eastern side of the bank. The course finishes in front of the church.
  • Players can pick flax for stringing bows at the flax field. If players have completed the Kandarin Diary, the flax keeper will exchange players a certain amount of flax for bow strings each day, increasing as the players completes more of the diary. There is a spinning wheel on the second floor of the seers' building.

Other

  • Located just north-east of the village is Camelot, a large castle that offers the closest teleport location and features in several quests.
  • The beehive field is located south-east of Seers' Village, just to the east of the flax field. The beehives are used during the Merlin's Crystal quest by using insect repellant found in Catherby on a hive. Players may also be teleported here to help re-construct a hive in a random event.
  • North of the bar is a small building with several coal trucks inside it. From here, players can retrieve all of the coal placed in the coal trucks at the nearby coal mine. A coal cart can hold up to 120 coal, or more with completion of parts of the Kandarin Diary.
  • To the west of Seers' Village is McGrubor's Wood, a large area used in the Fishing Contest and Plague City quests. The residents will not let players through the front entrance, so players will need to squeeze through some railings at the back. Level 44 guard dogs patrol the area.

  • Before the release of the Grand Exchange, the Seers' bank used to be a popular trading spot for Fletching items such as flax and bow strings, as well as Treasure Trail rewards and rare items.
