Hemenster

Hemenster is a small fishing town in Kandarin, located on the road between Seers' Village and East Ardougne.

Many options bring players into or close to Hemester, listed here with their arrival destination. From closest to farthest:

• Combat bracelet — Ranging Guild entrance.

• Kandarin headgear 2 or higher — Sherlock, east of the Temple of Ikov entrance.

• Ardougne Teleport — Ardougne Marketplace, south of the town.

The following lore is sourced from the goblin book, Hopespear's Will, dialogue with Bonzo, and dialogue with Grandpa Jack.

It is unknown exactly when Hemenster was created, although presumably it developed alongside Ardougne. At some point during the Fourth Age, likely before human settlement, a great battle took place between different goblin tribes, known as the Battle of the Plain of Mud. The battle ended due to a vision by a goblin named Hopespear, at which point the goblins stopped the fighting and built a temple underneath Hemenster.

The temple has remained in use ever since, but at some point, humans developed the land on the surface. In the modern day, the land hosts regular fishing contests, with winners including Grandpa Jack, Big Dave, and even a roaming adventurer.

• Temple of Ikov, found underneath the stone patio below the Ranging Guild. In this dungeon are several strong monsters, useful for training when using safespots. The dungeon features heavily in the Temple of Ikov quest.
• Goblin Cave, a large cave featuring many goblins and giant bats.

A number of skill-related items spawn in the area's two guilds:

• Armour salesman, who sells low-level Ranged armour.
• 4 bankers, who work in the Fishing Guild bank.
• Big Dave, a skilled fisherman.
• Bonzo, who judges the Fishing Contest.
• Bow and arrow salesman, who sells bows and various Fletching supplies.
• Competition judge, who gives players tickets for completing Ranged activities.
• Grandpa Jack, a wise man who tells players how to win the Fishing Contest.
• 5 guardians of Armadyl, who protect the staff of Armadyl.
• 11 guards, who patrol the Ranging Guild.
• Joshua, a competitor in the Fishing Contest.
• Kylie Minnow, who runs the minnow platform.
• Leatherworker, a tanner in the Ranging Guild.
• Master fisher, who sells the Fishing Skillcape.
• Morris, who guards the gate for the Fishing Contest.
• Ranging Guild doorman, who makes sure only qualified players enter the guild.
• Roachey, who owns the Fishing Guild Shop.
• Shield master, who explains shields to guild-goers.
• Sinister stranger, a pale fisherman who gets profiled due to likely being a vampyre.
• Ticket merchant, vendors who sell helpful Ranged items in exchange for archery tickets.
