Giant bats are relatively low-level flying monsters found throughout dungeons and across the surface of Gielinor. Despite them being generally weak monsters they may sometimes pose a threat to players due to their aggressiveness toward any players level 54 or lower. Giant bats can be used as a slightly higher-level alternative for regular Bats for Slayer assignments.

Notably, the bats in Arceuus and around the Dark Altar are not aggressive to players, making it safe to traverse the area and craft runes at the nearby altars even at a low combat level.
