The Sinister Stranger, also known as Vlad,[1] is one of the competitors during the Fishing Contest quest. Despite his appearance, he denies being a vampyre.[2] If garlic is placed by the pipes, he will abandon his spot due to the "ghastly" smell.[3]
When talking to Grandpa Jack about how to win the fishing contest, he suggests that the stranger is merely pretending to be a vampyre, and that he'll pretend to be warded off by garlic as well.[4] This may be the case, as a real vampyre on the opposite side of the River Salve would be heavily weakened and in hiding, like Ruantun and Count Draynor.
