Walkthrough

The Return of Khazard

Khazard's message to deliver to his scouts.
Items needed: ring of visibility, full ghostly robes and ghostspeak amulet (Morytania legs will not work), 40 coins

The ghost of General Khazard can be found wandering along the path to Rellekka, between the Rellekka house portal and the Swaying tree. Note that he cannot be seen on the minimap and has a large wander range, so you will need to search for him around that area.

With your ring of visibility, ghostspeak amulet and full ghostly robes equipped, speak to him. He will remark that you appear to walk and talk in the Shadow Realm, but although the player will look familiar to him, he will not recognise them from the events of Fight Arena. He requires the Sin Seer to judge you worthy before he will allow the player to assist him.

Head to Seers' Village and talk to Sin Seer, found upstairs in the house with the water source. Bribe her with 40 coins, and she will give you a note as exchange for your troubles. Return to General Khazard, and talk to him again. He will want you to visit four of his scouts around the world to deliver them a message.

The ghost scouts

You may visit the scouts in any order. Remember to wear your ring of visibility, ghostspeak amulet and ghostly robes. As with other ghosts, they will not appear on the minimap. Speak to each scout to hear their report.

Once you have visited all of the scouts, the final scout will give you a message to relay back to General Khazard. Return to him, and he will tell you to head to the "cave near where the fish-men gather" for your reward. He will give you a severed leg, which is apparently the "key" to your reward.

Bouncer returns!

Items needed: Severed leg, combat equipment
Items recommended: food

Note: During the following fight, you cannot use prayers, so be sure to bring food.

Head to the Goblin Cave located by the south-eastern corner of the Fishing Guild. Inside the cave head north, then take the first passage to the east, where you will arrive at a larger cavern. Once you are prepared for a fight with a level 160 ghost of Bouncer, enter the "crack" in the south wall of the cavern.

Warning: If you drop any items inside the fight area, you will lose them permanently when Bouncer dies.

Once inside, a short cutscene will play showing Bouncer ambushing the player, with the player complaining that Khazard DID recognise them afterall. Once it ends the fight will begin immediately.

Bouncer is not resistant to any particular combat style, and has a 15% weakness to wind spells. He has a max hit of 15. He may be safespotted in the south-east corner of the cave. You can also hide in the south-west corner, where the ghost cannot hit you, and use poison to weaken it while hiding. If you are around a combat level of 100, supplies will most likely be unnecessary.

When his health drops to 10, the player will automatically throw the severed leg to distract the ghost. Once it is distracted, the player will say "Away, darn spot!" and deliver a final blow, killing it.

You will receive some Slayer experience and a new sword.

Rewards

  • The Shadow sword. This can be reclaimed from the ghost that will appear after Bouncer's defeat for free.
  • Slayer 2,000 Slayer experience

Trivia

  • When Khazard hands you the severed leg, your player says: "Ugh, well, at least it's not another hand." Then the General replies: "What, have you dealt with severed limbs before?" and the player replies: "It's a long story." This is a reference to The Hand in the Sand quest.
  • The final ghost you inform gives you a message to give to Khazard and adds on the statement: "The messenger is Pavlov," probably referring to Pavlov's dogs and Khazard's dog Bouncer.
  • When throwing the severed leg in the final battle against the dog Bouncer (ghost), you automatically say "Away, darn spot!", which is a play on the famous dog name "Spot".
    • This line is also similar to a classic oft-quoted line from Shakespeare's play Macbeth wherein Lady Macbeth utters the phrase "Out, damned spot!" when she is sleepwalking and feeling guilty for helping to murder the Scottish king.
  • The scouts will make references to quests that players have completed in their area. For example, if the player has completed the Vampyre Slayer quest then the Falador scout will talk about an adventurer killing Count Draynor and how he will have to verify whether this is true or not.
  • The scouts are not human, as they repeatedly disparage humans during their conversations with the player.
