Kharidian cacti can be found around the Kharidian Desert. They can be used to fill waterskins, increasing them by one dose, but not other types of containers. Similar to webs, a knife or a slash weapon is needed to cut them open.
Successfully cutting a cactus and filling a waterskin will display the text You top up your skin with water from the cactus and award 10 Woodcutting experience. Failing to do so will display the text You fail to cut the cactus correctly and it gives no water this time and award 0.4 Woodcutting experience. If the player successfully cuts a cactus but has no waterskin, the chatbox will display You have no empty waterskins to put the water in.. There is currently no way to increase the chance of success. A dry cactus will become healthy again after 1 minute. Refilling a waterskin this way is a requirement for the Easy Desert Diary.
It is not possible to get the beaver skilling pet from cutting Kharidian cacti.[1]

Success chance
The chance of successfully cutting open a succulent Kharidian cactus scales with one's Woodcutting level, ranging from around 12% at level 1, up to a 99% success chance at level 99.[2]

Trivia
- If an Armadyl godsword is equipped while attempting to cut a Kharidian cactus or the godsword is used on the cactus, the Armadyl godsword's special attack animation is used instead of the normal knife animation.
