Barbarian Village

Edgeville is a small town located at the border of the Wilderness. Edgeville is a popular town to trade player killing-related items, and the bank is popular among players training Runecraft via the Abyss. Edgeville is also popular with members who own amulets of glory, as it is a fast bank to get to via a teleport.

In the early development of RuneScape Classic, Edgeville only had empty buildings; it was commonly referred to as "Ghost Town" until items were placed in the buildings and the town was given its official name.

Transportation

Many transport options bring players into or close to Edgeville, listed here with their arrival destination. From closest to farthest:

History

The following lore is sourced from the ancient map, Desert Treasure I, Desert Treasure II, Curse of the Empty Lord, and the Varrock Museum.

The land on which Edgeville is built was once part of the military fortress of Paddewwa, near the centre of Zaros's main kingdom at Senntisten. Following the betrayal of Zaros at the hands of Zamorak, the God Wars began, and Zarosian settlements were captured or destroyed. Paddewwa in particular was destroyed by Saradominist forces.

The land was later known to those of Misthalin as "Ghost Town," due to the presence of ruins in the area; these ruins were potentially, but not certainly, once buildings in Paddewwa. In the beginning of the Year 169 of the Fifth Age, King Roald of Varrock had the area incorporated as the town of Edgeville. The name was most likely given due to the fact that it was right on the edge of the Wilderness and Varrock.

Locations

Oziach, located in north-west Edgeville, sells the fabled rune platebody.

Buildings

Building Description
Doris' house A quaint house owned by Doris, with a trapdoor to Evil Dave's Basement of Doom. In this basement, players can use their cats to catch hell-rats, which drop spices.
Edgeville bank The bank of Edgeville. Players can find the Wilderness Statistics board on the north wall of the bank.
Edgeville furnace A small building featuring the closest free-to-play furnace to a bank. Members can wear Varrock armour 1 or above to obtain a bonus smelting chance (a 10% chance of smelting 2 bars at once, with higher Varrock armours allowing higher level metals).
Edgeville General Store A two-story building featuring a general store, a range, and Perdu, who returns reward items to you for a high fee.
Edgeville grange A large building found north of the bank, inhabited by a number of men and some farming equipment.
Edgeville jail A heavily-guarded jail in which the Slayer Master Krystilia is imprisoned.
Edgeville ruins The ruins of a mausoleum, housing the Soul Wars Portal, a yew tree, the Wilderness lever, and an entrance to the Edgeville dungeon.
Edgeville Monastery A large monastery with low-level monks. The top level can be accessed with Prayer 31 Prayer, and contains monk robes.
Lucien's house A small house in which the Mahjarrat Lucien lives.
Outlaw camp A small encampment south of Lucien's house.
Oziach's house An armour shop that sells the fabled rune platebody to players who have completed Dragon Slayer I.
Below Doris' home is the Basement of Doom, where Evil Dave houses hell-rats.

Dungeon

The Edgeville Dungeon is a massive dungeon which can be entered from a trapdoor beside the yew trees in the destroyed mausoleum. The dungeon is home to a variety of monsters, including skeletons, hobgoblins, zombies, and hill giants. The giants' lair is often full of players fighting Hill Giants because of the giants' drops, which include big bones. There is also a mid-size mine at the centre of the dungeon, guarded by aggressive level 25 skeletons. The mine contains adamantite, mithril, silver, coal, and iron rocks.

For members, there is a part of the dungeon in the Wilderness. In this part you can find chaos druids, earth warriors, black demons, and lots of red spiders' eggs spawns. Members can also find Vannaka, a mid-level Slayer Master, at the far east side of the dungeon, next to the Agility shortcut that leads to the Varrock Sewers.

Skill training areas

Edgeville has a range and a stove. The range is on the 1st floor[UK]2nd floor[US] of the general store and the stove is in Evil Dave's house just west of the bank. There are also two yew trees just south of the bank, in the dilapidated mansion, and a willow tree east of the bank. Players with a bucket can obtain water from the well west of the bank, or from a sink inside Doris' kitchen.

Spawns

Players can be found fighting hill giants in the Edgeville Dungeon.
