Places of worship are locations in Old School RuneScape dedicated to the worship or veneration of a deity, religious figure, or other entity. They take a variety of forms, including churches, chapels, cathedrals, monasteries, temples, shrines, and altars.
Churches
A church is a building dedicated to worship by a congregation. They are usually found in or near large settlements. Most churches also contain an altar; players can pray at an altar to replenish their Prayer points. Some churches also have an organ in them, which can be played for entertainment.

Other
Several locations are named shrines but have purposes that are unrelated to, or unclear as places of worship:
- Myreque shrine, which commemorates the Myreque.
- Strange shrine, encountered during the Maze random event.
- Strange shrines, found around The Stranglewood.
- Vending shrine, formerly part of Last Man Standing, where players could exchange survival tokens for equipment.
- Based on dialogue from the Gnome Child during the 20th Anniversary event, it is possible that followers of Brassica Prime find cabbage fields, and possibly the Falador farm in particular, to be places of worship in some sense. During the event, the Gnome Child tasks the adventurer to pick a cabbage specifically growing on the Falador farm. If asked why he would not accept a cabbage of a different source, the Gnome Child explained his desire to directly experience "the moment when the individual cabbage's connection to the Anima Mundi is irreversibly severed".[13] This almost mystical description of a cabbage's harvest appears to be in line with the privileged place it holds within the Brassican system of belief. If interpreted to bear on cruciferous cosmology, it would mean that the cabbage partakes in the life force of Gielinor itself – the Anima Mundi – while also serving as a concrete symbol of the need to keep anima under control, through the sacrificial rite of plucking.[14]

- ^ 2.0 2.1 This name is given by the wiki; no official name exists in-game
- ^ "Ulsquire Shauncy: I've researched this much, it seems that the temple was dedicated to the worship of elemental flame or fire. The sacred flame was said to be very holy and was used somehow to sanctify oil for use in cremations."
- ^ While the temple is dedicated to Saradomin, it is occupied by Zamorakians until the events of The Blood Moon Rises when it again returns to the Saradomists.
- ^ This temple was created by Xeric, but it is unknown who or what the Dark Altar is dedicated to.
- ^ There is no in-game documentation labeling this as a temple; the label is conjecture by the Wiki based on the presence of the altar.
- ^ The temple was created by Saradominists but is built to defend the Stone of Jas.
- ^ While the temple is accessible partway through Icthlarin's Little Helper, the altar is broken until completion of Contact!.
- ^ This name is given by the wiki; no official name exists in-game
- ^ Despite the altar being aligned for Saradomin, Galahad's dialogue suggests he does not have religious solidarity with Saradomin worshippers, despite wearing Saradomin-styled attire; this may indicate that he, and perhaps other Knights in Camelot, still retain their faith from Britain.
- ^ There are technically two shrines in Castle Wars, one in each base. The one in Saradomin's base is dedicated to Saradomin, and the one in Zamorak's base is dedicated to Zamorak.
- ^ Although the altar itself is technically unaligned, the presence of Saradomin monks at the camp indicate it is most likely used for Saradomin worship.
