Strange shrines can be found throughout the Stranglewood. During the Desert Treasure II - The Fallen Empire quest, inspecting the shrine will restore the player's run energy. These shrines will activate the effects of the ring of endurance consuming charges as well as doubling the effects of the energy restore.
