Canifis, formerly known as Kharyrll, is a small town in Morytania inhabited by werewolves in human form. The town is only accessible to players who have completed the Priest in Peril quest. Canifis is the starting point for the Myreque storyline.

Several teleports bring players into or close to Canifis, listed here with their arrival destination. From closest to farthest:
Kharyrll Teleport — Hair of the Dog pub next to Canifis Bank.
Slayer ring — Slayer Tower entrance north of the town.
Fairy code CKS — just west of Canifis.
Fenkenstrain teleport — Fenkenstrain's Castle, north-east of the town.
Salve Graveyard teleport — slightly west of the town.
Ectophial — Ectofuntus, far east of the town.
History
Before the God Wars, Canifis was a Zarosian fortress known as Kharyrll. The fortress was destroyed during the God Wars by Zamorakian forces as part of the destruction of the Zarosian Empire.[1]
In the year 23 of the Fifth Age, a group of werewolves built the village now named Canifis at the place where Kharyrll once stood.[2] Like all subjects in Morytania, they are forced to pay blood tithes to the vampyres, whether it be through captured humans, or offering one of their own if necessary.[3]

An evil vampyre lord started to take control over northern Morytania and his minions visited the various human groups in the area demanding blood tithes, causing widespread panic. Werewolves founded a settlement near to the temple. From the few survivors, we learned that most of the human inhabitants eventually succumbed and paid the blood tithe imposed by the vampyres. Only the inhabitants of Castle Fenkenstrain stood up to this evil influence." - ^ Roavar. Old School RuneScape. "In return for our allegiance, and the tithe of course, he keeps our land safe from any invaders and the Saradominists who want to kill us all. [Tithe? What do you mean?] Ah, well, in return for his protection, we have to give Lord Drakan a share of blood every week. If we don't have any to spare from our hunts, then we need to pick a member of the village to give their life in return for the blood so that the tithe is fulfilled."
