The Paterdomus Temple is the temple marking Misthalin's eastern border. It acts as the gateway into Morytania, and is located in eastern Silvarea, along the River Salve. The priest Drezel is the owner of the temple, although monks of Zamorak have taken it over during the Priest in Peril quest, trying to take down the Salve's magical barrier.
Various quests take place at or involve the temple, including Priest in Peril, Nature Spirit, In Aid of the Myreque, Darkness of Hallowvale, Sins of the Father, Devious Minds, and The Blood Moon Rises. The temple also plays a role as the finish line in the Temple Trekking / Burgh de Rott Ramble mini-game for villagers, and as a starting point for mercenaries.
During The Blood Moon Rises, the monks of Zamorak are finally removed from the temple, leaving it secure once more.
Transportation
From the west, the only way to access the Paterdomus Temple is by walking down path in Silvarea. The lumberyard teleport scroll and ring of the elements are the closest teleports to the end of the path, but neither is particularly close to the Temple.
From the east, the Salve Graveyard Teleport (or its tablet form) teleport the player close to the temple basement door. The CKS fairy ring and slayer ring are also good options.
History
Long ago, the Seven Priestly Warriors held back the forces of Lord Lowerniel Vergidiyad Drakan and performed a ritual at the River Salve, thus preventing the vampyres of Morytania from being able to cross over and invade Misthalin. The Paterdomus Temple was then built on the site of this famous battle. Today, it marks the barrier between the two regions.
Temple
The ground floor[UK]1st floor[US] and all levels above it have been captured by monks of Zamorak. For killing these, you will receive only 25% of normal experience. These monks are permanently cleared from the temple during The Blood Moon Rises. On the ground floor[UK]1st floor[US] is an altar to restore prayer. Just outside of the temple is an Agility shortcut requiring 65 Agility. During Priest in Peril, Drezel is held captive on the 2nd floor[UK]3rd floor[US] and is freed during the quest.
Outside the temple, multiple vampyres are buried in coffins. They date back to the Battle of the Salve, where they were trapped on the opposite side after the River Salve was blessed, but were unable to be killed despite their weakened state, so they were instead trapped and buried alive.[1] One of these coffins was dug up by the monks of Zamorak and brought to the 2nd floor[UK]3rd floor[US] of the temple.[2]
The basement of the Temple is only accessible if you have started the Priest in Peril quest. Players must defeat the temple guardian by the entrance before they can proceed through the basement. During the In Aid of the Myreque quest, players unlock a secret library filled with bookcases.

Trivia
- The name Paterdomus combines the Latin pater ("father") and domus ("house"), roughly translating to "House of the Father", likely a reference to Saradomin, whose followers built the temple.

- ^ Drezel. Old School RuneScape. "I'm afraid so. When the Salve was first blessed, a small number of vampyres were left trapped on this side of it. They were heavily weakened, but still posed a dangerous threat. Even with them weakened, the brave Saradominists who built this temple were unable to kill them. Instead, they trapped them in coffins and buried them outside the temple."
- ^ Drezel. Old School RuneScape. "This coffin here contains one of those vampyres. The Zamorakians must have dug it up and brought it in here with them."
