The moss lizard tail is one of three items requested by Eyatlalli during Perilous Moons so that she may perform a ritual. It is obtained by using a knife on a raw moss lizard caught in the Earthbound Cavern inside Neypotzli.

When leaving Neypotzli, this item is removed from the player's inventory with the message: The resources from Neypotzli fizzle to dust as they are severed from its magic.
