Fishing spots

There are several different types of fishing spots in Old School RuneScape. The most common types are 'Net/Bait', 'Lure/Bait', 'Cage/Harpoon', and 'Net/Harpoon'. Most fishing spots take a minimum of 250 ticks (2.5 minutes) to move, and a maximum of 530 ticks (around 5 minutes)^[1]. There are some exceptions: fishing spots for Karambwan, the big net spot in Civitas illa Fortis, the Dark Crab spots in the Wilderness Resource Area, and boat fishing spots never move, fishing spots for Sacred eel and Infernal eel move between 100 ticks (1 minute) and 300 ticks (3 minutes), and fishing spots for Anglerfish move between 8 ticks (5 seconds) and 830 ticks (8.3 minutes).

The following spots can be fished from docks and shores.

The following fishing spots can primarily be fished for tradeable fish. For fishing spots which primarily yield untradeable results, see § Untradeable catch.

The following members-only spots can only be fished from a boat, and most spots can only fished from a raft specifically. The advantage is that the spots never move or despawn, and you can store your fish in the boat cargo, or cook it on the boat (but not both at once, when using a raft, as there is only one facility spot).

The following fishing spots can be fished primarily for untradeable fish, or other items.

• Most fishing spots are coded as NPCs in the game engine, as evident by their yellow name when selected: this allows them to move to different locations.
• When a fishing spot changes location, if clicked on as it changes, the player will run to the new location to start fishing.
• Several inaccessible fishing spots can be seen at the Barbarian Outpost Agility Course and near the Chaos druids in Edgeville Dungeon. Unlike regular fishing spots, these do not have a left-click option, and are coded as scenery locations instead of NPCs and therefore never move.
