QUEST 101 · MEMBERS
In Aid of the Myreque
After the attack on the Myreque by Vanstrom Klause and with the deaths of both Sani and Harold, Veliaf is counting on you to help. Now that the Myreque freedom fighters' base camp has been revealed, they'll need to move on and set up base somewhere else. Veliaf has heard of a little known village south of Mort'ton, referred to as 'Burgh de Rott'. This could be just the place to set up operations to strike back against the evil of Lowerniel Vergidiyad Drakan and his Vampyric overlordship in Moryt

Walkthrough
Follow the chapters below. Click any screenshot or diagram to view it at full size.
Before you begin
Note: You must be on the normal spellbook to complete this quest as it is required to cast Lvl-1 Enchant, and the Enchant sapphire or opal tablet does not work here.
Starting the quest

Start the quest by speaking to Veliaf Hurtz in the Myreque hideout. To reach the caves where the hideout is located, you may either use fairy ring DLS or descend through the trapdoor south of the Hair of the Dog tavern. If you used the trapdoor, search the wall south of the ladder and walk through the secret passage. If you used the fairy ring, head through two cave entrances to reach the secret passage.
In the tunnel there is an eastern alcove, in the south eastern corner there is a hidden cave entrance - click on the wall to enter (you can rotate your camera to see the entrance).
Talk to Veliaf. He will ask the player to travel to Burgh de Rott to establish a new base of operations for the Myreque now that their hideout has been compromised. (Chat 1•2•1•1)…
| 1 | I want to join your organisation. |
| 2 | Ok, tell me this information you have to impart. |
| 1 | Can you tell me about the job? |
| 1 | Ok, I'll do the job. |
Arrival at Burgh de Rott
Note: You must bring the items required for this section with you to Burgh de Rott, as there is no functioning bank nearby until you repair it later in the quest. It is also highly recommended to have the rest of the items ready in your bank for the second stage of the quest.
Head to Burgh de Rott, located south of Mor'ton to find angry residents at the gate. Talk to Florin from the outside of the gate and he will refuse to let you in, accusing the player of coming to steal their blood and food for the vampyres. Use your food item on the open chest directly in front of the gate, and Florin will then let you into the town. Shades will no longer attack you.

Once inside, ask Florin whether there are any 'out of the way' places in Burgh de Rott, and he will suggest the cellar of the inn. First, you need to clear the rubble covering it.
Clearing out the rubble from the bar basement
Go to the inn just south-east of the gate, climb over the broken wall, and mine the rubble covering the trapdoor by using your pickaxe on it. Open the trapdoor and climb down to enter the cellar.
Inside are numerous piles of rubble. Mine the rubble, then remove it to place it in your bucket using the spade. If you forgot to bring a bucket, there is a bucket spawn near the well south of the front gate. Each bucket you have can contain 3 loads worth of rubble. Mine all of the rubble within the cellar. When the buckets are filled, climb the ladder and use them on the rubble pile just south-west outside the bar to empty them (the rubble cannot otherwise be disposed of).
Warning: Any items you drop will disappear if you exit the basement. The rubble will reappear upon leaving the cellar and returning if you only mine it and do not remove it.
Note: Every few rubble piles you mine, you will get 8 items: nails (10 bronze, 5 iron, 3 steel, 2 black, 1 mithril), 1 rock, 1 broken glass, dusty scroll, and plaster fragment. If you do not have space, they will drop to the floor, while the dusty scroll and plaster fragment will be discarded into the buckets of rubble, and can be reobtained by searching the rubble pile. You can read the scroll and fragment, but they are not needed to complete this quest. The rest of the items are not required for the quest, unless you do not have the required nails.

When you have removed the final piece of rubble, a cutscene will play of you noticing a plaque on the wall. The plaque holds no significance for this quest. If the cutscene doesnt play, you need to return to the cellar and clear more rubble that magically appears.
Go and talk to any citizen, and inform them that you'd like to help fix up the town. They will ask you to start by fixing up the general store.
Repairing the general store

Talk to Aurel in the general store in the north-eastern part of the city and also tell him that you want to help fix up the town. He will ask you to repair the roof and the walls of the shop. Head up the ladder on the outside of the southern wall of the General Store and use 3 planks and 12 nails in the hole in the roof to repair it. After that, head down and use 3 planks and 12 nails on the damaged wall just east of the ladder.
- Note: You can reroll the mackerel/snail meat requirement below by exiting Aurel's dialogue during the dialogue where Aurel tells you what he needs, but before he hands you the crate.
Once done, talk to Aurel again and ask him what you should do now. He will want the store stocked before he can open it. He will always need 10 bronze axes and 3 tinderboxes, and will ask for either 10 mackerel or 10 snail meats. You can provide him with either raw or cooked versions. You will be given a crate to fill up with these items.
Visit a bank to retrieve the items and fill the crate with them. The items cannot be noted.
While you are at the bank pick up these items for the next part of the quest:
- 5 planks,
- a hammer
- swamp paste
- 20 nails
Talk to Aurel again in the Burgh de Rott general store to give him the crate, and he will ask that you repair the bank to the south of the city.
Repairing the bank

Repair the bank booth by inspecting the bank booth, and then the wall on the west side of the bank as you did before.
Then, ask Cornelius what to do next, and in the course of the conversation he will agree to become the banker. You will now be able to use the bank.
Repairing the furnace

Ask Razvan what you should do next, and he will suggest that you fix the furnace. It can be found in the south-east corner of Burgh de Rott. Take two steel bars, a tinderbox, a hammer and one coal and repair the furnace to the south-east side of the city. Inspect the broken furnace to repair it. Put the coal inside of the newly fixed furnace, and light it with the tinderbox.

After lighting the furnace, you will see a cutscene. Vanstrom has noticed that Burgh De Rott is now inhabited and has ordered his blood tithe collector Gadderanks to collect blood from the residents.

Prepare for a fight with your silver weapon or any weapon wearing Efaritay's aid. Go to the general store, and talk to Gadderanks and then Wiskit. Talk to one of the Vampyre Juvinates and Gadderanks will order the two juvinates to attack you. They may be flinched by dragging them to the south of the room, then standing to the north of the table. You may also safespot them entirely from behind the table if using Ranged or Magic with Efaritay's aid. After one of the vampyres turns into mist, Veliaf will enter and assist you in killing the other vampyre, and then finally Gadderanks himself.
Note: You may leave the room at any time, which will cause the fight to reset.
Bug Bug: Occasionally, juvinates may not turn into mist and will instead become invincible. If this happens, leave the general store and try again. Switching to a non silver weapon for a few hits may also work.
Once all three have been dispatched, talk to Gadderanks who will be lying on the floor. He will beg you to try and save his family, and in return offers you information of the vampre's weaknesses, before finally succumbing to his injuries. Aurel will pick up his Gadderhammer and give it to you (if you have no free inventory space, it can be claimed from him later).
Talk to Veliaf, and he will tell you to meet him back at his hideout in the Hollows so the Myreque can discuss the move to Burgh de Rott.
Transporting Ivan
Items recommended: It is strongly recommended to bring a steel chainbody, steel platelegs, steel med helm, and a silver sickle in order to arm Ivan for the fight, other gear will not work. Ivan will also accept up to 15 (not noted) stew (highest healing), salmon, snails, or slimy eel as food. You will not get back any items you give to Ivan.
Note: You will be prevented from bringing pets in the following section, so bank them now.

Return to Veliaf in the Myreque Hideout and talk to him. He will ask you talk to Radigad and Polmafi to have them head to the Burgh de Rott hideout, but wants you to escort Ivan Strom to the Paterdomus Temple because the mission is becoming too dangerous for the young, aspiring priest. After escorting Ivan, he also wants you to ask Drezel about the rumours of a powerful weapon owned by a man named Ivandis Seergaze.
| This fight takes place in an instance. |
Talk to either Radigad Ponfit or Polmafi Ferdygris, and they will inform the other that it is time to leave. If you brought items for Ivan, right-click and "use" the items on him. Speak to Ivan when you're ready to escort him through the swamp.
You will be asked to select between Route 1 (short route) and Route 2 (long route). The short route involves a fight against two level 75 Vampyre Juvinates, and the long route involves a fight against four level 50 Vampyre Juvinates. Although the short route is a harder fight, it is easier to defend Ivan from just two enemies, so choosing this route is recommended.
If Ivan's health becomes too low, or he runs out of food, he will teleport out. He will let you know in the chat how much food he has remaining. If he teleports out, killing the juvinates will not progress the quest. You will need to leave the area to the south which will take you somewhere around Canifis so you can return to the hideout and try again. He will keep any gear that was given to him, but you will need to give him food again as he will have run out. If you leave the area while Ivan is still around, he will return to the hideout with the same amount of food that he had left.
The easiest way to protect Ivan is to ensure that he stays behind you. If using melee, just attack the juvinate directly in front of you to occupy him. If using Ranged or Magic with Efaritay's Aid, don't move from the starting square to ensure that Ivan does not move at all, and also attack the juvinate directly in front of you. If using this method, the other juvinate/s will wander around for a while, and then eventually engage Ivan.
Once you have killed the first vampyre, you can prevent the second vampyre from attacking Ivan by standing behind him, initiating a conversation with him, and then moving into the square where Ivan was. He will then move one square behind you, blocking the vampyre from attacking him.
It is possible to finish either route without giving Ivan anything, but it is difficult, and it will often require several attempts just to keep Ivan alive. Therefore, it is highly recommended to give Ivan armour and food.
Bug Bug: There is a bug where it is possible to complete the trek without completing the instance. Just continue the quest as normal.
After successfully escorting Ivan, climb down the trapdoor to the west and talk to Drezel. He will thank you for bringing Ivan; ask him where you might get more information on Ivandis's weapon, and he will give guarded answers. Tell him that the lives of those few left in Morytania rest on this, and he will relent and give you a key to the library. (Chat 1•4•3)…
| 1 | Veliaf told me about Ivandis. |
| 4 | Is there somewhere that I might get more information about Ivandis? |
| 3 | The lives of those pitiful few left in Morytania could rest on this! |
Use your key on the empty wall to the east containing a keyhole, and a trapdoor will appear. Go down the trapdoor into the library, and search the middle bookcase facing the western wall; you will pick up a book titled inside The sleeping seven. Read the book.
The rod of Ivandis
Items recommended: Fast travel method to any furnace, and a fast travel method to return to Canifis afterwards

Return to the tunnel just outside the Myreque hideout, and just to the east of the northern brick wall you should see two wooden boards forming an 'X' which are covering an entrance - use a hammer on the boards and then enter the cave entrance that appears. Inside the cave is a coffin. Use some soft clay on the coffin to get a rod mould.
Note: If 'nothing interesting happens', you forgot to read "The sleeping seven".
Head to any furnace with your rod mould, and use a silver bar, mithril bar, and cut sapphire to craft a Silvthrill rod, and then enchant it using Lvl-1 Enchant.
Note: If using fairy rings for travel, pick a location like the Edgeville furnace where you can quickly return to Canifis using CKS afterwards.
Take the enchanted Silvthrill rod and a rope back to the basement of Paterdomus Temple, and use the rod on the well in the room next to Drezel with the rope in your inventory to create the rod of Ivandis.
Take the rod of Ivandis to Burgh de Rott, go into the cellar of the pub, and give it to Veliaf to complete the quest.
Congratulations, quest complete!
