Druid pouches

The druid pouch is an item first obtained during the Nature Spirit quest. Its main use is to protect the player against the ghasts that haunt the Mort Myre Swamp.

If lost, an empty druid pouch can be reclaimed from the inside of the Nature Spirit's grotto - one respawns near the grotto pool.

Building the fire of dehumidification after completing Making Friends with My Arm is a strictly better, non-consumable alternative to druid pouches, though the fire does not have any effect within the Temple Trekking minigame.

For the pouch to function, the player must first fill it with blossomed items, such as mort myre fungi, stems, and pears, which add charges to the pouch. These items can be obtained by casting Bloom (either with the druidic spell given to the player during the quest or with a silver sickle (b), emerald sickle (b), enchanted emerald sickle (b), ruby sickle (b), enchanted ruby sickle (b), blisterwood sickle, Ivandis flail, blisterwood flail, diamond sickle (b), enchanted diamond sickle (b), or hallowed flail) near certain scenery in Mort Myre Swamp or the Ancient Guthixian Temple. Mort myre fungi can also be obtained by chopping sulliusceps on Fossil Island. During While Guthix Sleeps, players can also acquire vine flowers to fill the druid pouch.

These items, with the exception of vine flowers, can be purchased from the Grand Exchange, but since they have a relatively high price, it is generally cheaper for players to fill the pouch by harvesting their own blossomed items. Stems and pears provide more uses per fill, but spawn less frequently when Bloom is used.

When the pouch is filled, three blossomed items are selected to be added to the pouch. Pears are selected before stems, and stems are selected before fungi. Using a blossomed item on the pouch or vice-versa has the same effect as filling with no influence on which items are selected to be consumed. If the inventory does not contain at least three blossomed items, the message You need at least three blossomed items to add something to the druid pouch. is displayed.

As long as the pouch contains at least one charge, it can be used against the ghasts. When a ghast attacks, or when the pouch is used on one, it will activate by shooting a green magical projectile at the ghast, making it visible. The visible ghast can then be attacked and killed. It also protects any food that the player has in their inventory from becoming rotten.
