Rotten food

Rotten food is food that has been attacked by ghasts in Mort Myre Swamp. It is inedible and almost useless, where the only use is to have it converted to stew by Abidor Crank encountered rarely during the Temple Trekking minigame.

Players can prevent ghasts rotting their food by:

• Travelling direct to the desired location mitigating the need to travel through Mort Myre Swamp.
• Filling the druid pouch, obtained during the quest Nature Spirit, to turn all ghasts who attempt to attack the player into attackable foes who can simply be walked past without risk of rotting the player's food.
• Lighting the fire of dehumidification in the Mort Myre Swamp following the completion of Making Friends with My Arm will give the player permanent protection against ghasts rotting food (outside Temple Trekking/Burgh de Rott Ramble).
• Equipping Morytania legs 4 completely blocks the attack that ghasts use.
• Eating the piece of food that would have been turned into rotten food on the same tick as its being rotted. Doing so will allow you to eat the food and recover health, while the resulting rotten food will be placed in the first available inventory slot instead of replacing the rotted food.

Rotten food is obtained during the Zogre Flesh Eaters quest, when the player searches the backpack found deep within the Jiggig crypts.

It cannot be used to make Compost.

• Rotten food is just the generic ore model coloured green and combined with fishing bait.
