The sickies
Items recommended: A teleport out, a weapon and food, especially for lower level players.
Head to the entrance of Jiggig, south of Castle Wars, east of fairy ring BKP. Speak to Grish, who will talk about zogres carrying the "sickies". Ask about the zogres and he will describe how they rose from the dead in Jiggig and became carriers of sickness. Ask if you can help, and he will request that you learn why the zoges have risen from the dead, and find a way of reburying them. Grish will then give you two super restore potions and three cooked chompy birds.
While helpful during the quest, the super restore potions and cooked chompy birds are not required to complete it. You will need enough space in your inventory to receive them.
Talk to the ogre guard to the east. After mentioning Grish, he will crush the barricade to allow you to climb over into the zogre-infested area.
The zogre cave

In the following area, players under level 89 Combat may be attacked by level 44 zogres or skogres, which inflict disease, a status effect that will reduce a random stat (excluding Hitpoints and Prayer) by up to 10 every 18 seconds. If the skill is already at level 1, Hitpoints will be reduced instead. Players may be inflicted with disease through protection prayers.
Three doses of Relicym's balm will cure disease, or one dose of Sanfew serum, which also provides 15 minutes of immunity to disease. If not cured, disease will expire after 15 minutes. The super restore potions may be used to restore stats.
- Tip: Using the restoration pool in the Ferox Enclave will cure disease, and can be reached through a ring of dueling or Minigame Teleport to Clan Wars.
Once ready, run east to a set of stairs going downward and descend these stairs into the Jiggig Dungeon.
- Proceed north-west to an area with a blackened floor. There will be a short cutscene.
- Search the broken lectern. You will find a torn page that contained a spell.
- Search the skeleton that is adjacent to the lectern; a zombie will appear and attack. Kill it to obtain a ruined backpack.
- Open the backpack to obtain a dragon inn tankard, some rotten food and a knife.
- Attempt to search the coffin nearest to the skeleton, and then use a knife on it. The lock should unlock. Try opening the coffin (it may take a couple of tries). When the coffin is open, search it to obtain a black prism.
- Backtrack and exit the cave by running back to the barricade or simply teleport out.
You may drop the rotten food immediately, and the knife after unlocking the coffin.
B. Vahn
Head to the Dragon Inn in south-western Yanille. The Minigame Teleport to the Nightmare Zone, Watchtower Teleport (with completion of the Watchtower quest) or fairy ring CIQ will take you near Yanille.
Use the dragon inn tankard on the bartender, who will recognise it as belonging to Brentle Vahn, a common customer. Unsurprised to hear of his death, the bartender will mention seeing him recently talking to a shifty looking wizard.
Go to the Wizards' Guild in eastern Yanille, and talk to Zavistic Rarve on the ground floor (UK). If you don't have level 66 Magic, instead ring the bell on the eastern side of the building, and Rarve will appear outside. After seeing the prism and torn page, Rarve will mention that a wizard by the name of Sithik Ints has been researching the dark arts and may be able to help; though he doubts that he is involved, as there is a severe penalty for using the 'dark arts'.
Incriminating Sithik
Sithik can be found in the guest house to the north of the Guild on the 1st floor (UK), in the western-most room, lying in the bed. Ask him about the undead ogres at Jiggig, and he will deny any knowledge of them. The player will ask to look around, ignoring Sithik's objections.
Search the drawers, the cupboard, and the wardrobe in Sithik's room. You will find a book of portraiture, a necromancy book, papyrus and charcoal, and a Book of 'H.A.M'. Read all three books. Do not drop the tankard, as you will need it shortly after.
Use the Book of Portraiture on Sithik, and he will recommend the player tries out portraiture for themselves. Use the papyrus on him and the player will draw a portrait of his likeness. He will admire either the 'truth' or the 'honesty' of your completed portrait; you can only progress if he admired the honesty of it. Otherwise, drop it and make a new one before progressing. You can grab another papyrus from the drawers. Having a higher Crafting level helps with making a successful sketch. The two portraits won't appear the same in the inventory, and the correct one, when examined, will read A classic realist charcoal portrait of Sithik.

Return to the bartender and use the portrait on him. He will recognise Sithik as the wizard seen with Brentle, and will sign the portrait as an affidavit. Go back to the Wizards' Guild and talk to Zavistic Rarve or ring the bell outside the door. Tell him you have some items to show him, and after showing them all it will be enough evidence to convince Rarve that Sithik may be responsible for the murder. Rarve will give you a strange potion, explaining it will bring on a change in Sithik which should solicit some answers from him.
Use the potion on the cup of tea on top of Sithik's dresser. Go down the ladder and back up to Sithik, and you will find that he has turned into an ogre.
Talk to Sithik, and he will admit that he got Brentle Vahn to cast the spell to get rid of the ogres. Obtain answers to all three questions to unlock the ability to make Relicym's balm and brutal arrows. He will tell you that the spell is permanent, and the only option is to move the ceremonial area, as well as explaining the use of brutal arrows and Relicym's balm.
- Tip: You may now sell the black prism to Zavistic Rarve for 2,000 coins or to Yanni Salika in Shilo Village for 5,000 coins.
Upon giving you the Strange potion, Zavistic Rarve will take the Necromancy book, Book of H.A.M., tankard, and portrait from you. After drawing the correct portrait, you no longer need the charcoal, and after poisoning the cup of tea, you can drop the sample bottle.
Preparing for Slash Bash
In the following section, you will need to fight a level 111 undead ourg. The boss is fully vulnerable to brutal arrows, takes 50% damage from the Crumble Undead spell (max hit of 7), and only 25% damage from all other attacks. Either the use of brutal arrows or Crumble Undead is recommended, and the latter may actually do more damage depending on levels and the tier of brutal arrows the player has access to. Do note however that only a limited range of staves can autocast Crumble Undead (see the Crumble Undead page for info).
His attacks inflict disease through prayer, though Protect from Missiles will prevent his attacks from dealing damage when utilising the safespot in the next section. His attacks will additionally drain Prayer if the player is praying against the corresponding attack. This is independent of his disease effect.
It is possible to complete the fight without either brutal arrows or Crumble Undead, but may take significantly longer at low levels.
Relicym's balm
Since Sithik Ints has revealed the secret to making Relicym's balm, the player can now create them using a rogue's purse on a vial of water and then adding snake weed. They are also tradeable on the Grand Exchange. They may be useful in the final fight with Slash Bash, though it will take 5 doses to cure disease rather than the usual 3. Sanfew serum will cure disease by Slash Bash in two doses, though the 15 minutes of immunity will prevent disease from being inflicted.
It is highly recommended to take at least one balm to Uglug Nar by the entrance to Jiggig. Doing so will unlock a store selling three doses of Relicym's balm with a stock of 100, and he will additionally give you either 1,000 coins, 650 coins, 300 coins, or 100 coins depending on the dose of potion. This can only be done once. Giving him a three dose potion is enough to buy back three potions. The store additionally sells 100 achey logs, 10 bow strings, 10 cooked chompy, and five knives, which may be useful if choosing to fletch your own brutal arrows.
Brutal arrows
Brutal arrows and the composite ogre bow required to fire them are tradeable on the Grand Exchange. The tier of arrow depends on the type of nails used.
If choosing to make the bow, use a knife on achey tree logs with some wolf bones in the inventory. Use a bow string on the unstrung bow to complete the bow (requires 30 Fletching).
If choosing to make the arrows, use a knife on achey tree logs and fletch them into ogre arrow shafts (each log will give 2-6 shafts). Add feathers to the shafts (each shaft needs 4 feathers). Finally, use nails (made of any metal) on the flighted ogre arrow while having a hammer in your inventory.
Relocating the ceremonial grounds
Return to Grish and tell him you found out who's responsible for the Zogres. After informing him that the spell is unbreakable and the ceremonial dancing area will need to be moved, he will ask the player to retrieve some old things from the burial grounds to make the new Jiggig special, giving them an ogre gate key.
In order to unlock the ability to equip the comp ogre bow, you must tell him that you have some information on how to kill the zogres from a distance. He will then demonstrate how you can construct such a bow.
Return to the cave beyond the barricade and head west. There will be two successive locked doors, proceed through both of these and descend the stairs.
- Note: You will need to retrieve another ogre gate key from Grish if you die during the following fight.
Continue to the end of this long, wide room. Searching the stand will spawn the boss. To utilise the safespot, stand to the east of the stand before searching it (see image), and drink a dose of sanfew serum if you have one to prevent his disease effect.

A level 111 undead ourg named Slash Bash will attack you. The boss can be safespotted, however you can still be attacked by his range attacks. Activate Protect from Missiles to negate all damage if safespotting.
He will despawn after five minutes; search the stand again to respawn him.
After Slash Bash is defeated, collect the bones and the ogre artefact that he drops. The three ourg bones that Slash Bash drops are worth about 44,303 coins each.
- Tip: If you have started Rag and Bone Man II, you may consider killing zogres in the area until they drop the zogre bone for that quest.
- Warning: After talking to Grish, he will take your key and you will be unable to return to the boss room, losing any items left behind!
Return to Grish with the ogre artefact for your reward.
Congratulations, quest complete!
