Slash Bash

Slash Bash is an undead ourg encountered during Zogre Flesh Eaters. Attacking with both melee and ranged, his attacks inflict disease, a status effect draining a random stat (excluding Hitpoints and Prayer) by up to 15. Disease will drain your Hitpoints instead if the chosen stat is already at level 1. Five doses of Relicym's balm or two doses of Sanfew serum is required to cure it. The 15 minutes of immunity from the Sanfew serum will prevent disease from being inflicted.

His melee and ranged attacks additionally have a Prayer drain effect; they have a chance to drain Prayer if the player is praying against the corresponding attack. This is independent of his disease effect.

Slash Bash may be safespotted by standing to the east of the stand before spawning him, causing him to only used ranged attacks, with Protect from Missiles negating all damage, though he may still disease the player. Attacks against Slash Bash will only hit up to 25% of their normal max hit, with the exception of brutal arrows and Crumble Undead, which deal 100% and 50% damage respectively.

Leaving the area or taking longer than five minutes to kill him will cause Slash Bash to disappear with the message "The huge Slash Bash grows weary of your feeble attempts at combat and awaits a true challenge", forcing the player to fight him again.

Slash Bash was an ourg warrior in the service of Bandos during the God Wars. Very little is known about his life, but according to General Graardor he took part in a mission to corner Zamorak. The mission failed and Slash Bash was killed and later buried in the ancient burial ground of Jiggig.^[1] His corpse would remain there for millennia until Sithik Ints had Brentle Vahn assist him in cursing Jiggig causing Slash Bash and hundreds of skogres and zogres to be reanimated.

Following the curse, the ogre shaman Grish asked an adventurer to help them create a new sacred burial ground requiring an ancient ogre artefact, which now was in the possession of the undead Slash Bash. This led to the adventurer fighting against the undead ourg using techniques they had learned to fend off undead ogres and keeping their disease at bay. Successfully slaying Slash Bash, the adventurer returned the artefact to the ogres.

• Slash Bash appears to be wearing the artefact the player is sent to retrieve on his head, which explains why he drops it when he dies.
• Slash Bash might be a reference to the PlayStation game "Crash Bash".
• The ourg boss was due to be called "Gash Bash" in an early design draft of Zogre Flesh Eaters, before a tester pointed out the colloquial meaning of the phrase.^[2]
• According to General Graardor in the Postbag from the Hedge #28, Slash Bash was a "coward" who fell in battle before the Bandosians could corner Zamorak.
