An abandoned village
Head to the small village of Tai Bwo Wannai, located south of Brimhaven on Karamja. Talk to Trufitus, found in a small house north-east of the main village area, and ask him where everyone is. He will explain they are afraid to stay in the village. Ask him how you can help, and he will ask for several herbs to mix a potion to commune with the gods, in order to see what fate befalls them.
- Note: You cannot collect all of the herbs at once. You will need to go back to talk with Trufitus each time.
Snake Weed
Head south-west of the village near the ocean to find marshy jungle vine. Search it to get a grimy snake weed; this may take 1-5 minutes depending on your Herblore level. Clean the herb and give it to Trufitus.
- Note: If you intend to do Legends' Quest and Zogre Flesh Eaters, take two extra to save yourself time later.
Ardrigal
Head north-east of Trufitus' hut until you reach a peninsula with several palm trees on it, just south of the agility shortcut.
Avoiding the nearby level 46 Harpie Bug Swarms, search a palm tree to find a grimy ardrigal. Clean the herb and give it to Trufitus.
- Note: If you intend to do Legends' Quest, take an extra to save yourself time later.
Sito Foil
Warning: The tribesmen in this section are aggressive, and can poison you with damage starting at 11.
Immediately south of the village you will find scorched earth. Search it to find the grimy sito foil. Clean the herb and give it to Trufitus.
Volencia Moss
Head south-east of the hut until you reach a group of rocks you can search that are in the mining area, search an empty one to find the grimy volencia moss. Clean the herb and give it to Trufitus.
- Note: If you intend to do Fairytale I - Growing Pains take an extra to save yourself time later.
Rogue's Purse
Items recommended: Food for low levels to run past aggressive level 53 Jogres, and combat equipment to kill a level 53 Jogre for an easy Diary task
Head north-east of the village towards where you found the Ardrigal. Once you find the end of the cliffs, follow the coastline west until you find a pile of searchable rocks. Search them and enter the cave.
- Note: You may kill a Jogre inside the dungeon for an easy Karamja Diary task. Take the jogre bones for Tai Bwo Wannai Trio. Although they may drop the grimy rogue's purse, they do not count for the quest.
Run south past the aggressive level 53 Jogres until you find a fungus covered cavern wall. Search it until you find the grimy rogue's purse (may take some minutes).
- Note: If you intend to do Zogre Flesh Eaters, take an extra to save yourself time later.
Return to Trufitus with the final cleaned herb.

Getting started
Talk to Trufitus in his house located north-east of Tai Bwo Wannai.
Say: It's a nice village, where is everyone? → Me? How can I help? → It sounds like just the challenge for me. Everytime you gather a new herb you need to go show it to Trufitus before being able to get a new kind of a herb.
Snake weed
Go south-west of Tai Bwo Wannai until green and yellow vines labelled 'marshy jungle vine' are seen.
Search the vines and clean the herb. Your character may spend several minutes finding a herb.
Note: Take three if you intend to do Legends' Quest and Zogre Flesh Eaters.
Talk to Trufitus. Make sure you cleaned the herb.

Ardrigal
Head north-east from Trufitus. There will be Harpie Bug Swarms and palm trees.
Search the palm trees and clean the herb.
Note: Take two if you intend to do Legends' Quest.
Talk to Trufitus.
Say: Of course!
Sito foil
To the direct south of Tai Bwo Wannai Village is a patch of scorched earth.
Search the scorched earth (the squares immediately next to the fire) for the herb and clean it.
Talk to Trufitus.
Say: Of course!
Volencia moss
Go south-east from Trufitus until you reach the Karamja Jungle mine, marked with a pickaxe on minimap.
Search the rocks for the herb and clean it.
Note: Take two if you intend to do Fairytale I - Growing Pains (possible required item).
Talk to Trufitus.
Say: Of course!
Rogue's purse
Go back by the Harpie Bug Swarms and head north-west until a cave is seen over the cavern. Search the rocks and enter the cave.
In the cave, head south, look for green spots on the wall labelled 'Fungus covered Cavern wall', then search them and clean the herb. This process may take up to a minute. Do not try to use a Rogue's purse dropped by a Jogre. It must be obtained via searching the wall.
Note: Take two if you intend to do Zogre Flesh Eaters.
Killing a Jogre inside this cave completes an easy Karamja Diary task, and is worth doing along the way.
