Draynor Village, often shortened to Draynor, is a small village located between Falador and Lumbridge. The village is featured in many quests, and is a popular training location due to its willow trees and master farmers.

Transportation

Several teleports bring players into or close to Draynor Village, listed here with their teleport destination. From closest to farthest:

History

The following lore is sourced from the Varrock Museum and dialogue with Vanescula Drakan.

Draynor Village traces its earliest origins to the arrival of Count Draynor, a vampyre of House Drakan who was exiled from Morytania by his brother Lord Lowerniel Drakan. Forced across the River Salve, a holy barrier consecrated to repel creatures of darkness, Count Draynor was greatly weakened by the crossing.[1] He drifted westward with his servant Ruantun until he reached the quiet stretch of land that would eventually bear his name. It is unlikely that the village existed at the time of his arrival, given that the village is named after him.[2]

By the late Fourth Age, Draynor Village was growing steadily with the rest of Misthalin.[3] Following the creation of the runic altars, magical study flourished and led to the construction of the Wizards' Tower on a small islet south the village.[4] Count Draynor eventually stopped terrorizing the village, having not been seen in generations,[5] as he has become too weak to leave the manor.[6] Some adventurers attempted to kill him, but none had returned.[7] In the year 169, an adventurer successfully slew the Count by driving a stake through his heart.

Locations

Marketplace

There are several shops in the marketplace:

  • Diango's Toy Store, a place where players can buy fun weapons and retrieve non-tradeable holiday items.
  • Draynor Seed Market, a stall ran by Olivia. Most hops and vegetable seeds can be bought from her, and all can be stolen from the stall.
  • Forestry Shop, a shop ran by the Friendly Forester that exchange Forestry currency for unique rewards.
  • Wine Shop, a stall run by Fortunato which stocks bottles and jugs of wine, as well as jugs of vinegar.

Skill training spots

In addition to training combat by fighting the various monsters in the village, there are spots in Draynor for players to train Fishing, Woodcutting, Firemaking, Agility, and Thieving:

  • Five willow trees grow in close proximity of each other just south-west of the bank, making it a popular Woodcutting location for free-to-play players. The large open space east of the trees also makes it popular for training Firemaking. Be warned that in-between the trees are two aggressive level 7 dark wizards, who will attack any players under combat level 15. It is therefore not advised to train Woodcutting here with a lower combat.
  • On the shore next to the trees are several net and bait fishing spots, which can be used to catch either shrimps, anchovies, sardines, and herring.
  • The marketplace features two thievable seed stalls and one thievable wine stall. These stalls are guarded by a pair of market guards, who attack players who attempt to steal, or players who talk to any stall owners just after thieving from their stalls. In order to maximise the amount of stalls that can be thieved per hour, it is recommended to trap the two market guards in the Wise Old Man's house. This can be done by attacking them, then walking into the Old Man's house and closing the door with the guards still inside. Players can walk up the stairs in order to remove aggression from the market guards afterwards. Using this method, players can expect much higher experience rates per hour.
  • The Draynor Village Rooftop Course runs all the way around the village, starting at the furthest north-east house and ending at Ned's house. The course requires level 1 Agility to access.
The Draynor bank, robbed by the Wise Old Man.

Buildings

Morgan's house The middle house on the eastern side of the village. A clove of garlic can be taken from the cupboard upstairs. A woman can also be found on the top floor.
Ned's house Ned's Handmade Rope (100% Wool). The south-easternmost house in the village. Players can trade Ned 4 balls of wool or pay him 15 coins in exchange for rope.
Pig pen A G.A.G. pig pen north of the marketplace featuring seven adorable pigs.
Spria's house The Slayer master Spria has a house just west of Morgan.
Wise Old Man's house A large house just across from the bank. The Wise Old Man provides several services, such as checking players' banks for leftover quest junk and sending players on small tasks for experience or item rewards. Upstairs in his house, he has a thing under his bed which he may request players to kill.

Other

Off the coast is Draynor island, a small island that's only accessible by fairy ring with code CLP. The island is visited for a hard coordinate clue. Additionally, the Draynor farm, a small farm just east of the Agility course house, is close by.
