Dye

Dye exists in seven hues, plus the black dye. Dye is used to colour items: most commonly capes, but also certain quest items. Dyes can be made quickly by using the required ingredients on the person making the dye, given you have enough of the item and the required coins in your inventory.

Standard dyes can be used to dye capes and goblin mail.

• Guinevere in Prifddinas, requires Song of the Elves.
• Oronwen in Lletya, requires Mourning's End Part I.
• Xochitl in Tal Teklan, requires Children of the Sun.

• Aggie the witch in Draynor Village for 5 coins plus ingredients. You can skip the dialogue or create multiple at once by "using" the ingredients on her.
• Ali the dyer in Pollnivneach for 25 coins plus ingredients.

• A bottle of red dye spawns in the Sisterhood Sanctuary on the road leading towards the sanctuary.
• A bottle of orange dye spawns in Shayzien Styles, the shop run by Osten in Shayzien.
• A bottle of purple dye spawns by the bridge across River Dougne in the southern part of East Ardougne. Very close to the Khazard Battlefield spirit tree. Another bottle of purple dye can be found upstairs in the church in Hosidius.
• An infinite amount of red and yellow dye can be taken from the shelves at Mary and Gordon's farm, just south of the Farming Guild.

Pink dye is members only and can be bought from Betty in the Magic Shop in Port Sarim for 20 coins, after you have completed The Hand in the Sand quest. It can be made during the quest by using redberries and white berries with a special vial of water.

Pink dye can be used to create a pink cape, craft a pink origami balloon and to make Pink goblin mail. It is also an ingredient used in making the Zen theme for a Superior garden in a player's house.

Black dye is members only and player made during the Shadow of the Storm, Land of the Goblins and The Golem quests. The dye is made by using a Pestle and mortar on a Black Mushroom with a Vial present in your inventory. It can be used to dye capes, desert robes, goblin mails, origami balloons, and the Silverlight sword.

Abyssal dyes are members only and can be obtained as a drop from the Guardians of the Rift minigame. They are used to recolour the Raiments of the Eye set.

Three dyes exist:
Abyssal red dye
Abyssal blue dye
Abyssal green dye

Dark dye is members only and can be purchased from the Mysterious Stranger in the Hallowed Sepulchre for 300 Hallowed Marks. It is used to recolour the Graceful outfit.

Some quests require dyes to complete. Here is a list of these quests along with which dyes are needed:

Assuming blue dye is used during Recipe for Disaster, the table below shows the number of dyes required to complete all quests, some of which will be mixed together (not including Ghosts Ahoy). For Ghosts Ahoy, 3 of each primary should be brought so no extra trips are needed.
