A cabbage is a food item that can be picked from fields around Gielinor or grown through the Farming skill at level 7 with cabbage seeds. They heal 1 hitpoint when eaten. When picking cabbages from fields, members may randomly receive 1 cabbage seed.
When eaten, the message You eat the cabbage. Yuck! is displayed. When eaten while below full health, the message It heals some health anyway. is shown as well.
They are used in the following recipes:
- Vegetable batta (Gnome cooking)
- Garden pie (temporarily boosts Farming level by 3)
Cabbages are purchasable from various stores for 1 coin each. Hudo at the Grand Tree has a stock of 10; Cobado's Groceries a stock of 10; Miscellanian Food Shop a stock of 5; and Wydin in Port Sarim a stock of 3, to name a few. The cook at Blue Moon Inn sells unlimited cabbages through his chat dialogue.
Members can store up to 10 cabbages in an empty sack, creating a sack of cabbages. Sacks of cabbages are needed to protect growing tomatoes (x2), Krandorian hops (x3), and redberry bushes (x4). Adding cabbages to a compost bin makes regular compost.
Despite looking similar to regular cabbages, Draynor Manor cabbages are not the same item and often cannot be used in place of cabbages. The Draynor Manor variant plays a role in the Black Knights' Fortress quest.
If cabbages are brought to Lunderwin at the Zanaris marketplace, they can be sold for 100 coins each (they must be unnoted). As part of a security measure, sacks of cabbages cannot be taken to the marketplace.

Trivia
- When you try to exchange cabbages into noted cabbages at the Falador farming patches, the tool leprechaun complains about cabbages and says to take them away.
- It is possible to obtain three cabbages as a master clue scroll reward.[1]
- If a player receives 0 points in the Theatre of Blood, they will only receive a cabbage as a reward from the chest in Verzik Vitur's treasure vault, along with a message that reads, We are most displeased with your performance. Are you even trying?
- When you pick all of the cabbages in the north Aldarin patch, a cabbage farmer spawns; he is devastated that you've taken all his cabbages on harvest day.
