QUEST 82 · MEMBERS
Five hundred years have passed since the rule of King Alvis, saviour of Keldagrim and victim of his own inventions. He founded the Consortium: the gathering of Mining companies that were to serve the monarchy. But, eventually, the monarchy came to serve the Consortium. By the time of his death, the monarchy was all but abolished. Now the Kings in Keldagrim are but a distant memory... with only the statue of King Alvis to remind the people of the old days, the dark days. So begins the Rise of the

Talk to the Dwarven Boatman by the underground River Kelda, accessible through the Keldagrim entrance east of Rellekka, in the cave beyond the statues.
STEP BY STEP
Follow the chapters below. Click any screenshot or diagram to view it at full size.

Enter the Keldagrim dungeon entrance, east of Relleka and just south-west of fairy ring DKS. After entering, continue through another cave entrance directly to the east by the statues - do not head south, as that takes you to the base of Trollweiss Mountain.
Talk to the Dwarven Boatman (not the Dwarven Ferryman), who will offer you a free ride to Keldagrim. A cutscene will play, during which the boat will crash into the statue of King Alvis. After being arrested and taken to the Black Guard headquarters, Commander Veldaban will tell the player that the statue was long overdue for replacement anyway. He wants you to help out the local sculptor to rebuild the statue.
Talk to Blasidar the sculptor. He lives in the eastern side of Keldagrim, across the bridge, south of the kebab shop. He will make you the statue if you can get him clothes, an axe and boots "fit for a king". It is advisable to complete the axe part of the quest last, as Thurgo will teleport the player directly to Blasidar.

Talk to Vermundi, the silk trader in the corner of the east marketplace, and ask her about making the king's clothes. She can, but first she needs a picture of the clothes. Talk to the dwarf librarian in the library across the Keldagrim bridge. He tells you to search the library for a book about dwarven clothes. Climb any bookcase with a ladder in front of it to find the book on costumes.
Give Vermundi the book. You now need to fix her steam-powered spinning machine. Use the coal on her machine with logs in your inventory, then use your tinderbox on it ( 16 ). If you fail to light it, just try again. Once the machine is lit, talk to her again and pay her 200 coins to get the exquisite clothes.
Go to the south-western anvil in Keldagrim (south of the Black Guards' HQ) and ask Saro about the boots. He sold them to Dromund, another dwarf in Keldagrim. Speak to Dromund in his house just north of the bank, who will refuse to sell you the boots.
When Dromund is not looking towards you, steal the left boot from the table next to the door ( 14 Thieving). The right boot is on another table, but you cannot steal it from inside the house because of his cat watching over it. Stand outside by the window with the right boot, then use Telekinetic Grab on it ( 33 ) when Dromund is not looking. Once both boots are obtained, they turn into Exquisite boots.

Talk to Santiri, the tradesman of the sword shop in north-west Keldagrim. He talks about how his family came to possess the Dwarven battleaxe, mentioning it has been damaged and that the sapphires on the hilt had either been stolen or washed away. During the dialogue where you offer to repair the axe, Santiri may note your mastery of Smithing but exclaims that even you aren't skilled enough.
After he gives you the axe, use three sapphires on it to rebuild the hilt ( 12 ). Talk to Santiri again, who says that only an Imcando dwarf could fully repair it.
If you have completed The Knight's Sword, the player will remark that they know an Imcando dwarf. If you have not completed it, you will need to first talk to the dwarf librarian in the library by the Keldagrim bridge. They will tell the player to speak to Reldo in the Varrock Palace library to discover Thurgo's location; this is necessary to progress.
Thurgo resides in the single house at Mudskipper Point, south-east of Rimmington and south of Port Sarim. The fastest way to get there is to travel using Fairy rings to AIQ. Go to him with an iron bar, and ask him to repair the axe. After that, if you have not yet given him a redberry pie for free previously, you must give him one now. He will then repair the axe.
When Thurgo is done, you have the option to return immediately to Keldagrim. This will place you back in Blasidar the sculptor's house.
Give Riki the axe, clothes and boots by speaking to him with the items in your inventory. Talk to Blasidar, who explains that the Consortium wants the head of the statue modelled after one of its directors, but has not agreed which one. He asks you to go and help them make a decision. You will see a short cutscene of the incomplete statue.
There are eight mining companies in the Consortium, which are located upstairs in either the east or west marketplace:
You will need to pick a company to join. Joining The Purple Pewter provides a headstart of 20 points in the scoring system by speaking to the Purple Pewter Secretary whilst wearing three or more pieces of the H.A.M. robes set. Otherwise, your choice will only impact the final model of the statue built at the end of the quest.
The companies on the west side of the building have faster bank access, whilst the east side is closer to the ore seller and Grand Exchange (through minecart).
To begin, talk to the secretary of the company that you want to work for. You will be given several errands to collect 1-5 of a certain un-noted material within a time limit. The possible items are clay, copper ore, tin ore, iron ore, silver ore, gold ore, mithril ore, and coal. With the exception of clay, all materials can be mined or bought nearby, if they are not already in your bank or inventory. You can say "no," then talk to the secretary again to receive a different task.
A hidden scoring system determines your progress with a company; each ore delivery completed gives 20 points, while failing or cancelling a task subtracts 2 points. Progress is not shared between companies, so only perform tasks for one of them.
Once you reach 75 points, you will be told that the director of the company wants to speak with you. At this point you may start doing errands for the director, who will request different items from you. These items include bronze bars, iron bars, steel bars, silver bars, gold bars, and mithril bars, and give 12 points.
When you have have obtained 100 points for a company, you can ask the director to officially join them, and they will agree and accept you as a "trusted associate". Next, tell them that Blasidar sent you, and that you will vouch for them at the next Consortium meeting.
Return to Commander Veldaban (west of the bank) and tell him you will go to the meeting. You will see a cutscene of about 4 minutes. You can also skip the cutscene by refusing to go to the meeting; you can read a summary of it in the meeting notes, received after completing the quest.

Congratulations, quest complete!
Use this when you already know the route. The full walkthrough above includes explanations and diagrams.
Speak to the Dwarven Boatman. (DKS then go through the tunnel to the south west. Once inside proceed through the Cave Entrance directly ahead between the two statues. )
Say: That's a deal! → Yes, I'm ready and don't mind it taking a few minutes.
Finish the conversation with Commander Veldaban.
Say: Yes, I will do this.
Talk to Blasidar the sculptor on the east side of Keldagrim, south of the kebab shop.
Say: Yes, I will do this.
Talk to Vermundi, the silk trader in the eastern market. (Big building east side of river, silk icon)
Say: Yes, I'm looking for some special clothes.
Talk to the Librarian in the library, located at the north-east corner of West Keldagrim.
Say: Do you know anything about King Alvis' clothes?
Climb any bookcase to find a book on costumes known as the 'Scholars Guide to Dwarven Costumes'.
Note: If you weigh 30 kg or more, you will be unable to climb the ladder.
If you didn't bring coal, mine in the north-east corner of East Keldagrim or purchase from Ordan in the Blast Furnace.
Talk to Vermundi again.
Say: Yes, about those special clothes again...
Use your coal and logs on the spinning machine next to Vermundi then light it with a tinderbox.
Talk to Vermundi again and pay 200gp for exquisite clothes.
Say: Yes, about those special clothes again... → I'll pay.
If you didn't bring the 3 Sapphires, they can be purchased from Hervi at the Gem stall just to the north of Vermundi.
While here, steal from the baker's or crafting stall for completion of a task in the Easy Fremennik Diary (optional)
Talk to Saro at the anvil south-west of the bank in West Keldagrim.
Say: Yes, I'm looking for a pair of special boots.
Speak to Dromund in the house just north of the bank.
Take the left boot when he isn't looking.
Go outside behind his house and telegrab the right boot through the window when he isn't looking.
Talk to Santiri at the weapon shop in north-western West Keldagrim.
Say: Yes, I'm looking for a particular battleaxe. → Blasidar the sculptor needs it for his statue. → Perhaps I can repair the axe?
Use your 3 sapphires on the axe (now in your inventory) and talk to him again.
Say: Yes, I'm looking for a particular battleaxe.
If you have not completed The Knight's Sword Quest then you must speak to the librarian and then to Reldo in Varrock Library.
Talk to Thurgo at Mudskipper Point (AIQ), and give him an iron bar to repair the axe.
Say: Something else. → Can you help me with this ancient axe? → Return to Keldagrim immediately. ( → Can you help me with this ancient axe? → Would you like a redberry pie? → Can you help me with this ancient axe? → Return to Keldagrim immediately. May need a redberry pie if Thurgo has not received one recently).
You will be given the option to immediately return to Keldagrim; do so.
Say: Return to Keldagrim immediately.
Once in Blasidar's house, talk to Riki the sculptor's model to give him the clothes, axe and boots.
Talk to Blasidar. Watch the cutscene.
Go to the upper floor of the market and talk to the secretary of any company except the Red Axe.
Say: Is there anything I can help you with?. Ensure you perform tasks only for the company you choose, as the progress for each is separate. Buy the ores from Ordan in the Blast Furnace to save time.
Offer to help them. The secretaries require you to retrieve ores (cannot be noted). Be sure to read the dialogue to know what ores you need or fill your inventory with about 5 of each.
You CAN keep all ores/bars in your inventory noted and exchange them at general store downstairs.
You can also fill up your inventory with one type of ore, and speak to the secretary to ask for a task. If they ask for another type of ore, just click on the secretary again without accepting. Repeat this until they ask for the type of ore you are carrying (this will often take longer than just making trips to retrieve whatever is asked)
A hidden scoring system determines your progress with a company; each ore delivery completed gives 20 points, while failing or refusing a task subtracts 2 points. Once you reach 75 points, you can deliver metal bars for the director for 12 points each; 100 points is required to progress through this section.
Note: Don't refuse tasks, if you don't like the task click on the secretary again for a new task before closing the dialogue. Refusing too many tasks will gradually reduce the hidden score and you will have to do more tasks to make up for it.
Players who join The Purple Pewter can get a head start of 20 points if speaking to the Purple Pewter Secretary whilst wearing a full set of H.A.M. robes.
Talk to the director after making enough progress and complete a few tasks for them.
Say: Do you have any more tasks for me?
Note: The directors require you to retrieve bars (cannot be noted). Be sure to read the dialogue to know what bars you need or fill your inventory with about 5 of each. The dialogue closing trick from the secretary DOES NOT work here! Instead, click on the director before advancing the chat window.
After enough tasks, the director asks whether you've considered joining their company or states that you don't need to be doing running errands for them anymore. Join the company.
Say: I'd like to officially join your company.
Tell the director that Blasidar sent you, offer your support.
Say: Blasidar the sculptor has sent me. → I would support you. → Yes! Long live the !
Go back and talk to Commander Veldaban west of the bank, he will ask if you want to attend the meeting. You may choose not to.
Congratulations, quest complete!
