Lunar Isle

Lunar Isle is a crescent-shaped island located in the Northern Ocean, occupied by the ancient Moon Clan. The island becomes accessible to members who have progressed far enough into the Lunar Diplomacy quest.

A Seal of Passage is required to interact with all NPC's on the island except 'Birds-Eye' Jack. Players who do so without one equipped or in their inventory will be teleported to Rellekka. Completing the elite tier of the Fremennik Diary removes the need for a seal, adding a Return Orb to the bank which can be used to return to Rellekka if desired.

There are two methods for teleporting to Lunar Isle:

• Lunar Home Teleport and Moonclan Teleport — entrance to the residential area.
• Lunar Isle teleport — centre of the residential area.

Beyond that, players may talk to to Lokar Searunner on the western-most dock of Rellekka to be taken to Pirates' Cove, then go up to the pirate ship and talk to Captain Bentley to go on to Lunar Isle. A number of teleports to Rellekka exist, including:

• Fremennik sea boots 1 — centre of the Rellekka marketplace.
• Enchanted lyre — Rellekka's southern entrance.
• Teleport to House — POH portal just south of Rellekka.
• Diary cape — just south of the POH portal.

In the Second Age,^[1] the Fremennik seer V founded the Moon Clan after he discovered the Stone of Jas in a cave on Lunar Isle. He also discovered the art of runecrafting and travelled across the world with his followers, constructing altars at places of power.^[2][3]

Most other Fremenniks disagreed with the crafting of runes, feeling like it was stealing power from the gods, and so the Moon Clan split off from the Fremennik.^[4][5] This later resulted in a conflict between the two groups, with the Fremennik forcing the Moon Clan to retreat to Lunar Isle where they have lived ever since.^[6] Over time, their knowledge of the rune altar locations faded away, while their magical abilities advanced to the point where they no longer need runes to focus their magic.^[7]

In the Fifth Age, an adventurer who had previously been accepted into the Fremenniks voyaged to Lunar Isle in hopes of ending the rivalry. After completing a dream ritual, the player is accepted by the Moon Clan as well, and initiates the process of reconciliation between the two clans.

There are also three empty homes in the village.

• Astral altar - Used to switch to the Lunar Spellbook, or make astral runes with the Runecraft skill.
• Lunar Isle mine - The mine contains two rune essence rocks in the center, 7 gold rocks, 5 silver rocks, and 4 gem rocks.
• Suqahs - a number of suqahs can be found around the island. They are most concentrated in the northeastern tip of the island.
• In the building just west of the bank is a cooker, which functions like a range. While there are closer locations to a bank, this offers secluded and peaceful location to train, which is still close to a bank. There is also a sink in the building.

While there are no direct spawns on the island, there are several objects that can be interacted with for items. There is are flax fields outside the main gates, and several barrels around the island which can be searched for apples or for tar.

Players can dock at the Lunar Isle with level 76 Sailing, provided they have also completed Lunar Diplomacy. The dock at the south-east of the island offers the following utilities for sailors, though many are unusable until the quest is completed:

• Ledger table
• Bank deposit box

The notice board offers eight port tasks selected from the following lists.

The only monsters on the island are suqah, which use magic and melee attacks. There are a total of 26 on the island, with a 27th in a cage below the deck of the Lady Zay. Interestingly, however, a clue scroll step given by the Oneiromancer asks how many suqahs are on the island, but requires the answer of 25.
