Cadantine seeds can be planted in a herb patch at level 67 Farming to yield grimy cadantine, which, when cleaned, are used in Herblore to make potions.

Nearby gardeners will not watch over herb patches, nor will a fully-grown white lily plant protect them from disease.

They are obtainable from sources such as monsters, seed packs, and master farmers.

One is used in the Song of the Elves quest.

Cadantine has a minimum of 3 harvest lives, increasing by 1 for each tier of compost used (for a maximum of 6 when using ultracompost). While harvesting cadantine, there is a chance to not consume a harvest life dependent on the player's Farming level. This chance scales from 23.8% at level 1 to 31.6% at level 99, interpolating linearly in between.

The appearance of herbs planted in herb patches now match the herb's appearance in the player's inventory.

Players can now dig up healthy herb patches before they're fully grown. To prevent players from gaining experience repeatedly by planting and digging up herb seeds, the experience usually gained from planting them is now given when harvesting them, alongside the usual harvesting experience.
