Araxytes are a venomous species of arachnid found exclusively in the Morytania Spider Cave, requiring level 92 Slayer to kill. As they are abundant in numbers, able to inflict venom, and in a multicombat area, it is dangerous to fight them without prayer and a method to stave off venom.

There are two forms of araxytes; a level 96 version which is 1x1, and a level 146 version which is 2x2 and has slightly higher stats. They are killed for their aranea boots drop, a hybrid set of boots versatile when using multiple combat styles in one setup.

While both variants share the same drop table, the level 146 variants can be preferable to kill over the level 96 variants; their common drops are doubled, and the drop rate of the aranea boots are additionally doubled. They are also capable of spawning the Dreadborn Araxyte, something that the level 96 variants are incapable of doing.^[1] However, players may still choose to kill the level 96 variant, as their lower HP makes them one of the fastest slayer tasks.

They play a minor role in the quest A Night at the Theatre, where players must steal some strange spider eggs from their cave.
