Plague City
The western part of Ardougne has been shut off as a deadly plague sweeps through the people. However, a young woman who went in to try to help those stricken by the illness has disappeared and her parents have become worried.

Preparation
Requirements are gates. Recommendations are comfort and risk controls, not mandatory levels unless the game enforces them.
Items required
- Dwellberries (Spawns in McGrubor's Wood, squeeze through the loose railing, use ALS, or Telekinetic Grab them. They can be bought from Heckel Funch or Hudo in the Tree Gnome Stronghold or grown with 36 Farming.)
- Rope (Purchasable in the East Ardougne general store, Port Khazard general store, Ned, or a spawn in Karamja general store.)
- Spade (One spawns near Edmond.)
- 1-4 buckets of water (four uses required, there is a water source and bucket spawn nearby)
- Hangover cure or the ingredients to make one:
- Chocolate dust
- Chocolate bar
- Knife or pestle and mortar (Knife spawn on the table in the house east of the altar)
- Bucket of milk (Obtained by using a bucket on a dairy cow, one is north of Ardougne, or bought from Hudo or Heckel Funch.)
- Snape grass (Spawns west of the Crafting Guild or the peninsula north-east of Hosidius. It can be grown at 61 Farming. Can also be obtained from killing Tribesmen in Karamja.)
- Picture of Elena (Inside Alrena and Edmond's house)

- Fast travel to Ardougne to start the quest - Skills necklace to Fishing Guild or Spirit tree to Battlefield or fairy ring to DJP or Captain Barnaby's ship from Rimmington or Brimhaven

Ironman notes
- The hangover cure can be made before the quest starts by combining milk, chocolate dust, and snape grass to conserve inventory space.
- The hangover cure itself is an untradeable item so if preparing for Group Ironman, do not premake these as you will be unable to share them with your group through Group Storage or Trading.

Starting the quest

Speak to Edmond. Dialogue: What's happened to her? → Yes.

Speak to Alrena inside or near the house.

Take the Picture of Elena off the table in the house.

Speak to Edmond.

Use 4 buckets of water on the mud patch behind the house (between the cabbages and potatoes).

Dig with a spade on the softened ground.

Go south to the farthest pipe.

Attempt to open the grill.

Use a rope on the grill.

Put on the gas mask and climb up the pipe.
Finding Elena
- 01
Go east and speak to Jethick; he will give you a book. Dialogue: Yes, I'll return it for you.

Go north to the house against the wall (next to the rotten apple spawn).

Attempt to open the door.
- 04
Speak to Martha Rehnison or Ted Rehnison in the house.

Go upstairs and speak to Milli Rehnison.

Go south of the town square to the large building along the southern wall with an "X" on the doors and a staircase inside going down. Attempt to open the door. Dialogue: I fear not a mere plague.
Getting inside
- 01
Go to the large main building on the north side of the town square, north of the manhole.
- 02
Talk to the Clerk in the main room. Dialogue: Who is through that door? → This is urgent though! Someone's been kidnapped!
- 03
Speak to Bravek. Dialogue: This is really important though! → Do you know what's in the cure?
- 04
He will give you a scruffy note for a hangover cure.
- 05
Use the hangover cure on Bravek; he will give you a warrant. Dialogue: They won't listen to me!
Finishing up
- 01
Return to the Mourner house, the one with "X" on the doors and the stairwell.
- 02
Search the barrel west of the staircase for a small key.
- 03
Go downstairs, enter the cell, and speak to Elena.
- 04
Return to the town square, go down the manhole, through the sewer, climb the mud pile, and speak to Edmond at his house.

Congratulations, quest complete!
