The bronze dagger is the most basic dagger in Old School RuneScape, and can be made at an anvil using the Smithing skill. This requires one bronze bar and a hammer, and yields 12.5 Smithing experience. There are no level requirements to create or wield a bronze dagger; like many melee weapons, it can be poisoned.

Trivia
- It is the third weapon that players obtain on Tutorial Island, after the bronze axe and bronze pickaxe.
- It is the first weapon that players obtain which is not also a tool.
- Despite becoming seemingly obsolete as the player is given a bronze sword in the next section of the tutorial, the bronze dagger does have some usefulness during the Magic Instructor's task given its small magic attack bonus.
- The bronze dagger is denounced by Vannaka as being a "butter knife". Because of this, it is commonly regarded as the "worst" weapon in the game. However, the bronze 2h sword arguably deals less damage per second.
- It is the second-weakest dagger in the game, behind the Dark/Glowing dagger obtained during Legends' Quest, which has marginally superior accuracy bonuses but no strength bonus.
