Mith grapple

The mith grapple is an item carried in the ammunition slot, used together with any crossbow (excluding the love crossbow, light, and heavy ballistae) to grapple across certain Agility shortcuts. Both items must be equipped. Using these crossbow shortcuts is a requirement for a number of achievement diary tasks. As well as the required Agility level, players will also need a certain Ranged and Strength level to use them. Armadyl's section of the God Wars Dungeon is the sole exception, as it only requires 70 Ranged. At level 78 agility, all grapple shortcuts can be passed without the need for the grapple (assuming the observatory shortcut has been unlocked).

There is a 1/25 chance of the grapple being destroyed upon usage; when this occurs, the message box states "After untying the rope, you find that your grapple is broken and useless.".^[1] The mith grapple will never be destroyed within the Hallowed Sepulchre or while doing the Shayzien Agility Course.

The grapple can be made by attaching a mith grapple tip to a mithril bolt to create a mith grapple (unf), requiring 59 Fletching, then using the unfinished grapple on a rope. The tip can be smelted using a mithril bar, requiring 59 Smithing.

The grapple is also dropped by a number of monsters found in the Ancient Cavern, which may be accessed after completing the first part of Barbarian Firemaking, requiring level 35 Firemaking.

An unlimited supply of mith grapples can be found via a crate located in Armadyl's Eyrie, due south of the grapple spot. A mith grapple is required to access this crate. The "drop trick" can be utilised here to obtain multiple grapples, as players can only retrieve a mith grapple from this crate if they do not already have one equipped or in their inventory.

A Fletching cape or max cape can be searched for a mith grapple and bronze crossbow three times a day.
