STEP BY STEP
Follow the chapters below. Click any screenshot or diagram to view it at full size.

Talk to Kangai Mau in Brimhaven, in the Shrimp and Parrot food shop. Tell him you are in search of adventure, and he will say that he needs someone to go on a mission to Ardougne. Lord Handelmort has stolen the Rantuki tribe tribal totem for his private museum, and he wants you to get it back.

If you were to head to Lord Handelmort's mansion in Ardougne, you would find that the door is locked. You need to find a method to get past the front door.
Instead, head to the GPDT depot, just west of the Ardougne docks and just south of the eastern bank. Investigate the north-eastern crate to find an address label, addressed to Lord Handelmort. South of this crate is another crate, intended for delivery to the Wizards' Tower. This crate contains a teleport block, Wizard Cromperty's new invention. Use the address label on this crate to mark it for delivery to the mansion instead.
Ask a nearby GPDT employee when the crate will be delivered, and he will agree to deliver it now.

Talk to Wizard Cromperty, found in the house north-east of the Ardougne market. Do not use the right-click 'Teleport' option, or you will be sent to the Rune essence mine. Ask him what he has invented, and he will tell you about his new teleportation block. Ask to be teleported, then confirm that it sounds good when he says you will end up by the teleportation block. You will find yourself inside Handelmort's mansion.

Go west through two doors. The second door is locked; the password is Lord Handelmort's middle name, which is K U R T. You would have found this out by reading the Guide book in the Estate Agent's house, after some clues from Horacio the gardener, but this was not necessary to progress the quest.
Enter the code using the left and right arrows (K=10 right, U=6 left, R=9 left, T=7 left). When the password is set, click enter to unlock the door.
The stairs are booby trapped; Do not use the "climb-up" option first! Instead, investigate the stairs ( 21 ), then climb up. If You don't find anything interesting appears, you don't have the required level.
Exit the southern door onto the balcony and enter the room to the east. Open the chest and search it to find the tribal totem.
Return the totem to Kangai Mau in Brimhaven. He will give you 5 swordfish as thanks.
Use this when you already know the route. The full walkthrough above includes explanations and diagrams.
Talk to Kangai Mau in the Brimhaven food store.
Say: I'm in search of adventure! → Ok, I will get it back.
Travel to Ardougne (you can take a ship from Brimhaven to complete an easy Karamja Diary task), and head to the GPDT depot just south of the eastern bank.
Investigate the most north-eastern crate for the address label.
Use the label on the crate located 2 tiles to the south of the first crate.
Talk to a GPDT employee.
Say: So, when are you going to deliver this crate?
Talk to Wizard Cromperty in the house north-east of the Ardougne market with the checkered floor.
Say: So what have you invented? → Can I be teleported please? → Yes, that sounds good. Teleport me!, or → if you have completed the medium or higher Ardougne diaries.
Go west 2 doors and enter the password KURT. If you click too quickly it will say "This combination is incorrect", try again slower.
Right-click Investigate the stairs, requiring 21 Thieving, then climb them.
Search the chest on the top floor for the totem. You must finish the dialogue.
Return to Kangai Mau.
Congratulations, quest complete!
