Trolls have come down from the north and are camped on Death Plateau. They are using this base to launch attacks on the principality of Burthorpe! The Imperial Guard is taking heavy losses. They need your help!

Preparation
Requirements are gates. Recommendations are comfort and risk controls, not mandatory levels unless the game enforces them.
Items required
- 60 coins (bring 1000 for the gambling dice with Harold part)
- 10 unnoted bread
- 10 unnoted cooked trout
- Iron bar
- Asgarnian ale (can be found on the bar at the pub in Burthorpe)
Recommended
- Premade blurb' sp. or Blurberry special (strongly recommended, trivialises the dice betting segment)
- Games necklace for Burthorpe teleports or Combat bracelet for Warriors' Guild teleports
- Stamina or energy potions

Ironman notes
- A method to obtain an iron bar:
- 15 Mining Mining and 15 Smithing Smithing if smelting iron ore
- Spawn in Thurid's Brain Buckets on the Sunset Coast in Varlamore (requires Children of the Sun Quest)
- Spawn in level 18 Wilderness north-west of the Ferox Enclave, next to the bears west of the Graveyard of Shadows. Accessible via Clan Wars Minigame Minigame Teleport
- 1/42.67 drop from dwarves (10 Combat) in the mines under Falador
- 1/34.42 drop from sorting small salvage with 15 Sailing

The Equipment Room
- 01
Speak to Denulth in the Burthorpe camp. Dialogue: Do you have any quests for me? → No, but perhaps I could try and find one?
- 02
Ask Eohric on the first floor of the castle about the guard that was on duty last night. Dialogue: I'm looking for the guard that was on last night.

Speak to Harold upstairs in the bar in Burthorpe. Dialogue: You're the guard that was on duty last night?

Speak to Eohric again.

Go back to Harold.

Give him an Asgarnian ale.

(Optional) Give him a Blurberry special or Premade blurb' sp. Dialogue: Can I buy you a drink? to automatically win the gamble. If by chance, you have not brought the Blurberry special, just talk to him again and offer to gamble. This will leave you at the mercy of luck when bankrupting him and can become extremely frustrating if you go on a losing streak.

Bet with Harold, you must bet over 60 gold (101 to immediately bankrupt him). Dialogue: Would you like to gamble?

Continue to gamble until Harold is bankrupt.

Gamble until he gives you an "IOU". Read it to receive the combination.

Go to the castle and place the 5 coloured balls as shown in the image. The door will unlock (you have to read the note for this to work). Keep the note as you will need it to finish the quest, though if lost it can be reclaimed from Harold for free.
The Secret Path
- 01
Go north-west of Burthorpe, enter the cave.
- 02
Ask Saba about another way up Death Plateau. Dialogue: Do you know of another way up Death Plateau?
- 03
Leave the cave, continue north-west then go south at the fork.
- 04
Talk to Tenzing. Dialogue: OK, I'll get those for you.
- 05
Talk to Dunstan by the anvil in north-east Burthorpe.
- 06
Talk to Denulth where you started the quest, who will give you a certificate.
- 07
Talk to Dunstan to exchange your climbing boots, certificate and iron bar for spiked boots. (If you already own a pair of spiked boots, Dunstan will take the certificate, and then continue to the next step)

Return to Tenzing; give him 10 bread, 10 trout and the spiked boots to get the map. The bread and trout must be un-noted, and the items must be given all in one go.

Exit Tenzing's house through the north door and then climb over the stile. Take the path north and around to the east (past the second mountain goat) until the message "I think this is far enough" appears in the chat box (NOT the Death Plateau warning, this is another message; you can ignore the warning, since the trolls only attack you on the main path).

Talk to Denulth (make sure you have the combination with you when you do).

If you lost the combination it can be re-obtained from Harold for free without gambling.
