Tyras guards can be found at the Tyras Camp in Tirannwn. Tyras guards equip steel halberds as weapons, therefore a player can be attacked either next to a guard or one square away.

A Tyras guard is fought during the Regicide quest.

Strategy

Tyras guards can hit up to 15, and though there are a few safespots, their halberd can reach over most of them. Protect from Melee will prevent a Tyras guard from damaging the player; food is strongly advised if not using Prayer.

Magic can be dangerous to use because most robes have low defence and there is a lack of safe spots, but it has proven to be effective. If using Ancient Magicks, a player can attack with ice spells so the guard cannot move, which is highly effective because of his weakness to Magic, and binding the guard results in most if not all damage avoided during the fight.

Alternatively, a player with high melee stats (60+) along with modest equipment should be capable of defeating a guard close up.
