A rune mace is a mace made of runite. It requires 40 Attack. It can be made at level 87 Smithing using one Rune bar.
It is currently the sixth-strongest mace in the game, surpassed by the Void knight mace, Barronite mace, Dragon mace, Tzhaar-ket-em, and the Inquisitor's mace. It is the second strongest free-to-play mace, behind the Barronite mace which has a higher crush and strength bonus, but a lower prayer bonus.
The rune mace can be purchased from Scavvo's Rune Store in the Champions' Guild for a price of 14,400 coins after obtaining 32 quest points. It can also be purchased from Spike's Spikes in Outer Fortis for 18,720 coins, only requiring access to Varlamore.
The rune mace can be combined with Scurrius' spine on an anvil using a hammer to create the bone mace, requiring 35 Smithing. Alternatively, Historian Aldo can do so for a fee of 50,000 coins.
