Freeing the Mountain Dwarf

To save the dwarf, you will need a special dwarven rock cake. Only his father in the tunnel under White Wolf Mountain knows how to make one.

Preparation

Requirements are gates. Recommendations are comfort and risk controls, not mandatory levels unless the game enforces them.

Requirements

  • Completion of the following quests:
  • Recipe for Disaster/Another Cook's Quest
  • Cook's Assistant
  • Fishing Contest
  • The ability to defeat a level 13 icefiend if you don't have the ice gloves.

Items required

  • Bucket of milk (can be bought from the Culinaromancer's Chest)
  • Pot of flour (can be bought from the Culinaromancer's chest)
  • Egg (can be bought from the Culinaromancer's chest)
  • Bowl of water (a bowl and sink can be found in the kitchen of Lumbridge Castle)
  • 4 Asgarnian ales (can be bought during the quest at the Rising Sun Inn in Falador)
  • Recommended to bring at least 2 additional ales in case Rohak sobers up
  • 306 coins (300 + 1 coin per ale, 100 instead of 300 if you choose to bring a Ring of Charos(a), 150 instead of 300 if you choose to bring a chocolate bar)
  • Bring additional coins if buying the other ingredients or bringing additional ales
  • Gloves, If not using gloves make sure to bring Telekinetic Grab spell runes (Ice gloves are the best, but other gloves will work fine too)

Recommended

  • Fast travel to several locations
  • Falador (Falador teleport)
  • Lumbridge (Lumbridge teleport)
  • White Wolf Mountain (Taverley teleport, Teleport to House if your house is in Taverley, Camelot teleport or a gnome glider)
  • Ice Mountain, if you have no access to ice gloves (Combat bracelet to Monastery or Skull Sceptre
  • Additional ingredients (bucket of milk, pot of flour and egg—in case you drop or lose the cake)

Enemies to defeat

  • Icefiend (level 13) (only if you lack ice gloves)

Walkthrough

  1. 01

    Inspect the dwarf in Lumbridge Castle's dining room.

  2. 02

    Go to the Rising Sun Inn in Falador and talk to Emily or Kaylee. Pay her to learn how to make Asgoldian ale. Dialogue: What can you tell me about dwarves and ale? → I could offer you some in return, how about 200 gold?

  3. 03

    Use coins on your Asgarnian ales to get Asgoldian ales.

  4. 04

    Go to the tunnel under White Wolf Mountain.

  5. 05

    Talk to "An old Dwarf" located in the bar and give him Asgoldian ales until he agrees to make a dwarven rock cake.

  6. 06

    Talk to him 3 times and he will place a dwarven rock cake on the table. (His name will change to Rohak)

  7. 07

    If you have ice gloves, equip them and pick up the cake. Otherwise either telegrab the cake or equip other gloves and pick it up, then kill an icefiend (at Ice Mountain) to cool the cake.

  8. 08

    Give the dwarven rock cake to the dwarf in Lumbridge.

  9. 09

    Congratulations, quest complete!
