BEFORE YOU START
Requirements
Hard requirements and unlocks that materially change the method.
- 55 Magic and access to the standard spellbook
- One nature rune and five fire runes per cast, normally using a fire staff to supply the fire runes
- Tradeable alchable items bought below the break-even price
- Enough attention to verify the item and avoid alching valuable gear
INVENTORY
Set up the method
- ✓Equip a fire-providing staff and keep nature runes in inventory
- ✓Position the item under or next to the spell icon to reduce mouse travel
- ✓Use only a small stack until the exact item's high-alchemy value is verified
- ✓Move valuable equipment out of the inventory and enable alchemy warnings appropriately
STEP BY STEP
Run the method
- 1Read the exact item's high-alchemy value and subtract the live nature-rune cost to find the maximum break-even purchase price.
- 2Check buy limit and volume, then buy a small batch below that threshold.
- 3Equip the fire staff, cast High Level Alchemy, and click the intended stack once per cast.
- 4Repeat at a sustainable rhythm while watching the selected item and remaining runes.
- 5Record coins gained minus item and rune costs; source the next batch only while the executable margin remains positive.

DETAILS
Mechanics that matter
Fixed payout
High-alchemy value is fixed by the item, so market risk is mostly locked in when the item is purchased. The spell does not care what you paid.
Cast rate
The spell has a five-tick cycle. Perfect theoretical rates assume continuous input and no banking; use a lower measured rate for planning.
Warnings
The game can warn before alching valuable items, but thresholds are not a substitute for checking the item name. Noted and unnoted items generally share values; variants may not.
Opportunity cost
Alchemy earns Magic XP and can fit into downtime. Compare it with faster training and more profitable active methods before valuing every minute as free.
REAL RETURNS
Calculate your profit
- Profit per cast = high-alchemy value − item purchase price − nature-rune cost; fire runes are normally supplied by the staff.
- Hourly profit = profit per cast × your measured casts per hour, minus banking and sourcing time.
- Buy limits often matter more than cast speed, so maintain several verified item options.
Build a rotating list of liquid alchables and use patient buy offers below break-even.
Verify the exact item before every batch. A single valuable-item misclick can erase hours of small margins.

Prices change. Your math shouldn't.
