SKILLING • HIGH ATTENTION
Blast Furnace bars
Smelt bars quickly on a Blast Furnace world. The furnace halves the coal normally required, making coal-based bars the main profit methods.
15–85 Smithing by bar; 60 Smithing avoids the entrance fee

BEFORE YOU START
Requirements
Hard requirements and unlocks that materially change the method.
- 15 Smithing for iron, 30 for steel, 50 for mithril, 70 for adamantite, or 85 for runite
- Coins in the coffer to pay the dwarven operators
- Players below 60 Smithing must also pay the foreman to use the furnace
- Ice gloves or another valid cooling method before collecting hot bars
INVENTORY
Set up the method
- ✓Ice gloves, coal bag for coal-based bars, stamina potions, and weight-reducing gear
- ✓Place ore and coal next to each other in the bank; use bank fillers to protect the layout
- ✓Carry enough coffer money for the session and check it before starting
- ✓Buy only a test batch until the actual ore and bar fills prove the margin
STEP BY STEP
Run the method
- 1Choose a bar using current instant-buy ore costs and instant-sell bar revenue, including tax and coffer fees.
- 2On an official world, fill the coal bag where needed and withdraw the matching ore load.
- 3Run to the conveyor belt and deposit coal first when the recipe requires a stored coal buffer; deposit primary ore after.
- 4Run to the bar dispenser, equip ice gloves before collection, and take the bars.
- 5Bank the bars, refill coal bag and inventory in the same order, sip stamina before run energy becomes the bottleneck, and repeat.

DETAILS
Mechanics that matter
Coal reduction
The Blast Furnace requires half the normal coal, rounded up. This is why mithril, adamantite, and runite spreads can be attractive.
Ore limit
Do not keep depositing primary ore without collecting finished bars. The dispenser has a practical batch limit and will block additional deposits.
Cooling
Ice gloves let you collect hot bars immediately. If you use water instead, account for the extra inventory slot and actions.
Throughput
Advertised rates assume precise banking, continuous running, correct coal buffering, and no time spent buying supplies. Your first hour will be slower.
REAL RETURNS
Calculate your profit
- Net per bar = bar sale price − primary ore − Blast Furnace coal − proportional operating fees − GE tax.
- Net per hour = net per bar × your measured bars per hour − stamina cost.
- Recheck after every ore purchase or bar sale; Blast Furnace margins compress quickly.
The coal bag changes the method from awkward to efficient. Learn one bar rhythm before switching based on margins.
