Trading sticks are the main currency of the jungle village of Tai Bwo Wannai on Karamja. They can be received by participating in the Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup minigame, selling items to Gabooty's Tai Bwo Wannai Cooperative, or killing Karamja-related monsters such as jogres.

The most efficient way to acquire trading sticks is to buy semi-precious gems (opal, jade, red topaz) and sell them to Gabooty. Buying cut opals from the Grand Exchange results in the best trading sticks exchange rate. Mining gem rocks in the Shilo Village mine and selling the gems to Gabooty is the fastest way to obtain trading sticks for Ironmen.

Note: Players must have their Karamja gloves equipped to receive the increased amount of trading sticks.

An alternative way of receiving trading sticks is to participate in the Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup minigame, as players will want to get 100% Tai Bwo Wannai favour to complete a task in the medium Karamja Diary.

Participating in the minigame will give players favour with the villagers. If players talk to the villagers and tell them they've done some work, they will give the player some trading sticks in exchange for some of the player's favour. Wearing pieces of the villager clothing set will cause the villagers to give you more trading sticks at once in exchange for favour.

Note: Players need to have repaired the fence in the village and then spoken to Murcaily before the villagers will have the option to give them trading sticks.

The following villagers will give the player trading sticks:

• Gabooty - In the middle of the fenced area.
• Sharimika - Upstairs of the northern building of the fenced area. Accessed using the ladder to the east of the building and walk across the bridge.
• Layleen - Upstairs of the northern building of the fenced area. Accessed using the ladder to the east of the building and walking across two bridges.
• Mamma Bufetta - Northern building of the fenced area. Accessed using the ladder to the east of it and then down the next ladder to the west over the bridge.
• Murcaily - Just outside of the Hardwood Grove on the west side.
• Karaday - Just outside of the eastern quest start point on the map.
• Rionasta - Near the western quest start point on the map.
• Safta Doc - Near the anvil in the northern part of the area.
• Fanellaman - Walks along the western coast, to the west of the anvil.
• Jagbakoba - Outside the fenced area on the south side, where the fires are (a dark patch on the map).

Gabooty's Tai Bwo Wannai Cooperative is located within the fenced area of Tai Bwo Wannai. Players can trade for premade gnome cocktails, villager clothes, gem machetes, semi-precious gems (opal, jade, red topaz), and gout tubers. By default, the shop does not have any gems or gout tubers in stock.

Players can pay 100 trading sticks to access the Hardwood Grove, an enclosed area near the eastern end of the village containing mahogany and teak trees. This fee is incurred upon each entry to the Hardwood Grove.

Players can, for a fee of 10 trading sticks per item, ship items from their inventory to their bank via Rionasta. This is particularly handy when cutting wood in the Hardwood grove, playing the Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup minigame or banking loot obtained from Brimhaven Dungeon via Banisoch's entrance.

No forms of currency can be shipped using this method.

5000 trading sticks can be used as a one-time payment to Banisoch to access a shortcut to the metal dragon area of the Brimhaven Dungeon. These can be bought on the GE for 30,000.
