The Great Conch

The Great Conch is a large island located in the Unquiet Ocean south of Menaphos. It is the home of the Tortugan species. A settlement named The Summer Shore is located on the southern shore and has a docking point requiring 45 Sailing and partial completion of Troubled Tortugans to use.

Among the island's features are a calquat patch to the west of the Summer Shore, a coral patch off the eastern dock, Woodcutting trees including jatoba and camphor trees, Mining spots, an area for crab trapping, hermit crabs for combat training as well as the Gryphon slayer monsters and their boss variant, the Shellbane Gryphon.

The Tortugan quest series is a series of quests taking place on and around the Great Conch. Starting Troubled Tortugans, the first quest in the series, is required to access the Great Conch.

After starting the quest Troubled Tortugans and giving the bandage to Floopa, the Great Conch can be visited by:

• Using the fairy ring CJQ
• Taking a charter ship
• Sailing to the docking point on the south side of the island

• The Great Conch bank
• Elder Strom's Hunting Stall
• Elder Raley's Herblore Stall
• Elder Blunn's Spear and Shield Stall
• Elder Krill's Fishing Stall
• Elder Coco's Crafting Stall
• Elder Reggle's Farming Shop

The island contains the following skilling spots:

• Jatoba and camphor trees.
• Hermit crabs on Cape Conch to the south-east.
• Gryphons and the Shellbane Gryphon.
• The following are available for hunting:
  • Tropical wagtail
  • Blue crab - on the north & east beaches
  • Black warlock - many spawns in the hunting area east of The Sacred Grove
  • Carnivorous chinchompa - hunting area east of the town on top of the hill.
  • Orange salamander - on the north-western Abalone Cliffs
• A Sand pit is available south-east of the bank.
• Farming patches:
  • Coral nurseries off the eastern dock
  • A calquat patch west of the Summer Shore
• Fishing spots:
  • Several Fishing spot (big net, harpoon) on the south beach near the dock
  • Several Rod Fishing spot (lure, bait) on the pond near the The Summer Shore
  • Several Fishing spot (cage, harpoon) on the north beach

The Northern Conch and Cape Conch mines contain a host of mining resources ranging from clay to mithril.

• The Great Conch was first present during the March 2025 Sailing Alpha, but the docking point was not accessible and as such the island could only be viewed from the sea.
• There are no poll booths on the Great Conch.
