Repair kits are used to repair boats if they take damage from any source. They can be used while aboard a boat, including while at the Shipyard. Crewmates may also repair the ship using the repair kits stored in the ship's cargo hold. They provide an increased heal of their deckhandiness level − 1, which is added to the repair kit’s base healing. Commanding a crewmate to repair the ship does not give the player any attack delay.
Players can use the Construction skill to create repair kits. Depending on the tier of kit, they can be made 2–3 at a time using 5 swamp paste, 1–2 of the appropriate tier of plank, and 5–10 of the appropriate tier of nails. Wooden repair kits can be crafted without a hammer or saw by using the items on each other from the inventory; the rest can only be crafted from a Shipwrights' Workbench, and thus require a hammer and saw.
Shipwright Seb of Seb's Shipyard Supplies will also repair boats for a cost of 50 coins per hitpoint, which costs ~25% more than buying repair kits from his store. However, the repair fee can be taken directly from a players bank if a player is not carrying enough coins for the repair.
