Phoenix necklaces are necklaces that automatically restore the wearer's Hitpoints by 30% of maximum if they drop to 20% of the maximum or below. They only have one use, after which they are destroyed.

In addition to restoring health, the phoenix necklace also clears out any pending attacks on the player from the attack buffer. This negates any pending damage from delayed attacks such as spells and arrows from afar. This also notably works on certain multi-hit special attacks, such as those from dragon claws and dark bows, where if one of the multi-hits triggers the effect, it will cancel the damage from subsequent multi-hits. The phoenix necklace is often brought in PvP as a gear switch to counter these special attacks finishers.

If the user's hitpoints drop below 10% in one hit after being above 20%, and the player is also wearing a ring of life, then the phoenix necklace is activated first. Self-inflicted damage such as guzzling a dwarven rock cake will also cause it to activate.

Players can make one by enchanting a diamond necklace with the Lvl-4 Enchant spell. This requires level 57 Magic, 10 earth runes, and 1 cosmic rune and grants 67 Magic experience.

In legacy duels within Emir's Arena and in Tombs of Amascut the phoenix necklace is considered food. Therefore, it will produce no effect if the "No Food" option is toggled during a duel or if the “On a Diet” invocation is active. Phoenix necklaces cannot be used in Bounty Hunter.

If both the phoenix necklace and Redemption are worn and turned on simultaneously, the phoenix necklace will be consumed and Redemption will not be activated.
