Perfect gold ore

'Perfect' gold ore is ore mined in the Witchaven Dungeon, found south-east of Ardougne. It requires 40 Mining to mine and can be smelted into a 'perfect' gold bar.

'Perfect' gold ore is the same as regular gold ore. The differences are only seen by Avan from Family Crest quest. He will say that he'll give you his piece of the crest if you make him a necklace and ring made from a 'perfect gold bar' with rubies in them.

Smelting 'perfect' gold ore while wearing the Goldsmith gauntlets received after the quest will result in the standard double experience (56.2 exp with the gauntlets, rather than 22.5 from smelting it normally).

'Perfect' gold bars can be used as a substitute for regular gold bars when making other jewellery, but it will function as if regular gold was used, and it will not receive the prefix 'perfect'.

If the player is wearing Varrock armour 1 or higher while mining 'perfect' gold ore, and the additional ore mining perk activates, the player will receive one gold ore and one 'perfect' gold ore rather than two 'perfect' gold ore. The chance to smith two at once at the Edgeville furnace also applies. The various tiers of Mining gloves will provide their ore saving effect when mining the 'perfect' gold ore.

• The P in 'perfect' gold ore is not capitalised because all items in Old School RuneScape originally used ucfirst capitalisation, wherein the first character of a string is capitalised, but the rest is not. In this case, the first character is the quotation mark (').

• Unlike other unique ores (such as Lunar ore and Blurite ore), 'perfect' gold ores can be smelted in the Blast Furnace.
