A 'perfect' gold bar is an untradeable gold bar smelted from 'perfect' gold ore. It is used in the Family Crest quest with a ruby and a necklace mould or ring mould to craft a 'perfect' necklace and 'perfect' ring respectively. It can be used as a normal gold bar when crafting any other item of jewellery, creating a normal piece of jewellery, which will not receive the prefix of 'perfect'.
Just like normal gold ore, two 'perfect' gold bars can be smelted at once at the Edgeville furnace if the appropriate tier of Varrock armour is worn.
It cannot be used to make a gold helmet or gold bowl.

Trivia
- The P in 'perfect' gold bar is not capitalised because all items in Old School RuneScape used to use ucfirst capitalisation, wherein the first character of a string is capitalised, but the rest is not. In this case, the first character is the quotation mark ('). When this restriction was lifted on the 19 August 2026, the item was not renamed.
- If the 'perfect' gold bar is offered to Dondakan the Dwarf during the Between a Rock... quest to make cannonballs from he states: "Perfect gold? That's much too valuable to be used to make cannonballs!"
