The manta ray is a type of food that restores 22 Hitpoints when eaten. It can be obtained by cooking raw manta ray on a fire or cooking range, requiring level 91 Cooking and granting 216.3 experience when successful. When cooking there is a chance to fail, resulting in a burnt manta ray. The burn rate decreases as the player's Cooking level increases. It will only stop burning entirely when the Cooking cape is worn.

The manta ray is the second highest instant-health single consumption food, behind the marlin, alongside the dark crab, bluefin, anglerfish, and tuna potato. It is recommended to check the prices before using manta rays as a primary source of healing, as they are often more expensive than the other fish that heal the same amount.

Cooked moonlight antelope and cooked dashing kebbit heals 26 and 23 health respectively, but part of the healing is delayed, making them not always practical in the same situations.

Catching and cooking a manta ray is a requirement for the elite Ardougne Diary.
