A jubbly bird is a type of bird found during the Skrach Uglogwee subquest of the Recipe for Disaster quest. They appear to be a big, purplish version of a normal chompy bird. They can be hunted and killed by using ogre bellows on an already bloated toad, whilst also having a rock from one of the mineable rocks in the area and a ball of wool. Combining the wool and the toad creates a balloon toad which is used as bait. Jubblies have to be killed with a Ogre Bow or Comp Ogre Bow and their respective ammunition.

After the subquest, they can be hunted as part of the Chompy Bird Hunting activity; each jubbly killed will count as one chompy in the player's kill count. Jubblies are not particularly hard to hunt. They do not actually attack players and only run a few squares away when they get too close to them. Once they are killed, they must be plucked to receive the drops. The feathers go into the player's inventory automatically, while the other drops appear on the ground.

Unlike chompy birds, which grant 30 Hunter experience when plucked, jubbly birds do not grant any Hunter experience when plucked. Casting Monster Examine on jubbly will result in the message You can't find out their stats.

Each balloon toad has a 1 in 5 chance to attract a jubbly bird every 25 ticks (15 seconds) from the moment it is tethered to the ground. Up to four rolls can be made by a balloon toad before it deflates and flies off, although no further rolls are made after a toad has successfully called down a jubbly.
