Fire arrows are used to access the Underground Pass starting with the Underground Pass quest, in order to burn down the guide rope holding up a bridge allowing one into the pass maze proper.
Fire arrows are created by using an oily cloth on most untreated arrows, then by using them on a tinderbox or any fire. There is a perpetual fire in the Underground Pass near Koftik for ease of access. Lit fire arrows can also set mummies ablaze inside the Ancient Pyramid. Apart from that, they are no different from normal arrows in combat.
Unlike most arrows, any kind of fire arrow can be shot from any bow when used to burn down the rope to access the Underground Pass. These arrows can also be taken to Entrana.
Types of fire arrows
All metals that can smith arrowheads can be a base arrow to make a fire arrow. The different types of fire arrows are:
- Bronze fire arrow
- Iron fire arrow
- Steel fire arrow
- Mithril fire arrow
- Adamant fire arrow
- Rune fire arrow
- Amethyst fire arrow
- Dragon fire arrow
You cannot use:
- Broad arrows purchased from a Slayer master
- Brutal arrows from the Zogre Flesh Eaters quest
- Ice arrows from the Temple of Ikov quest
- Ogre arrows made from achey tree logs, feathers, and wolf bones
- Training arrows obtained from the Ranged tutor
