A swamp toad is a small creature with removable legs. Doing so yields toad's legs in place of the swamp toad. Toad's legs heal for 3 Hitpoints, are used as the second ingredient for agility potions (toadflax potion unf), and the gnome cooking foods: Tangled toad's legs, toad batta, and toad crunchies.
Collecting a swamp toad at the Gnome Stronghold is a requirement for the easy Western Provinces Diary.
The text "You pull the legs off the toad. Poor toad. At least they'll grow back." appears in the chat box after pulling the legs off.
These swamp toads cannot be used to fill ogre bellows; only swamp toads found around Feldip Hills will fill them. Attempting to do so results in the chatbox message stating "The chompy bird doesn't like this species of toad."

Trivia
- In RuneScape Classic, there used to be about a 2 in 3 chance that the swamp toad was too slippery to successfully pick up, with a message calling them ..slippery little blighters. This seems to have been changed at some point, likely in the transition from RuneScape Classic to RuneScape 2.
- Real toads do not have the ability to grow new limbs.
