Several Sarcophagi can be found in the Ancient Pyramid, the pyramid involved in Desert Treasure I. Players can search the sarcophagi, although this will almost always result in finding nothing. Rarely, players may receive loot from searching the sarcophagi, but due to the fact aggressive monsters can spawn at any time, it is not recommended to do this. When standing on a square that is within 2 squares away from a sarcophagus, the sarcophagus may open and spawn a level 96 mummy. This includes sarcophagi that are on the opposite side of a wall, and this can also happen when standing still next to a sarcophagus.
Upon successfully looting a sarcophagus, the message You find some treasure! appears. When unsuccessful, the message You don't find anything interesting. appears instead. Searching these will not reward any experience.
The sarcophagi found in the final room of the pyramid, which contains the Ancient Magicks altar, will show a message It seems like someone has already looted this Sarcophagus... when trying to search it. All other sarcophagi seem to be searchable.
