Pyre logs

Pyre logs may be used during the Shades of Mort'ton minigame to cremate the remains of both Loar and Phrin shades. They require level 5 Firemaking to light and grant 50 Firemaking experience when used to cremate a shade (75 with Morytania Diary 4 complete).

To make pyre logs, players must first obtain some sacred oil. Sacred oil may be purchased from other players or made during the Shades of Mort'ton minigame or the Shades of Mort'ton quest. To create the oil, players need to purchase normal olive oil from Razmire Keelgan's store in Mort'ton and then help to restore the temple that lies to the north of the town. Once the temple is rebuilt, players may light the altar in the centre of the temple and use their olive oil on the fire. This converts the ordinary olive oil into sacred oil, which can then be used on logs. Different types of logs use a different number of doses of sacred oil to turn them into pyre logs.

The amount of experience shown in the table below is the experience that is rewarded for using the required amount of oil on a log. This experience is calculated at a flat rate of 5 experience per dose of oil used. Making pyre logs does benefit from the pyromancer outfit's experience boosting properties unlike other Firemaking activities used in the Shades of Mort'ton minigame.

Players may use the pyre logs, along with a set of Loar or Phrin remains, on one of the numerous funeral pyres located in the south-west of Mort'ton. The pyre can then be lit using a tinderbox, which releases the shade and rewards Firemaking and Prayer experience, as well as some coins or a key. The type of key rewarded depends solely on the type of remains cremated, not the type of logs used.
