Nylocas Athanatos

Nylocas Athanatos spawn during the second phase of the Verzik Vitur encounter during the Theatre of Blood.

When spawning, it will launch from Verzik towards a random player. Where it lands it will deal massive damage in an AOE. It can hit up to 78 damage from the very centre tile it lands on with reduced damage 1 tile away from that.

These nylocas do not target players but instead attend to Lady Verzik, healing her much like the Nylocas Matomenos. If it is hit with a weapon capable of afflicting poison or venom (or when the serpentine helm is equipped), the Nylocas Athanatos will instead burst and deal damage to Verzik, indicated by a green aura appearing over it. It can also be killed by poison inflicted by Smoke spells. Using raw damage to kill it is not recommended, due to its high health regen rate and damage reduction, and ability to quickly respawn when killed without poison.^{[clarification needed]}

• The word "Nylocas" is very similar to the Hungarian word "Nyolcas", meaning "eight", referencing the eight legs of this arachnid-like creature.
• The latter part of the name of the Nylocas Athanatos likely derives from the Greek adjective "ἀθάνατος" ("athánatos"), meaning "undying" or "immortal", referencing its background within the lore.
